Anaheim, California, as Lessee, requesting permission to ERBCT A DBTACHHD SIGN, set back six and one-half feet from the street right-of-way, on the property described as 1929 Anaheim-Olive Road, situated on the ~ North side of said street between Placeatia Avenue and Ash Street. The property is presently classified C-1. This Variance was held-over from the meeting of November 3, 1958, to see if there could~be a combination of stores on each sign in order to not have too many signs in the area. Mr. Schurman appeared before the Commission and stated that with the 60-foot setback requirement for these stores and his type of business, it was necessary for him to have a sign on the highway; that he had tried with a sign on tlxe building and that this was not adequate to serve his type of business. There are existing signs, one at the far end oF the property, and one in front of the fourth store on the property, and with this request, it will make three signs for the six stores. Mr. Krogman, the owner of the property, stated to your secretary that if any of his other tenants requested signs, they wouid be told by him that no more could be permitted. Mr. Schurman also stated that, as car as he could ascertain, the balance of the tenants in the stores have no desire to.erect signs. No oae appeared in opposition to the granting of the Variance.
