A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMIS;iI0,1 OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM REODMMENDING
IO THE CITY OOUNCIL THE CHANGE IN NAME OF CIES STRFE'C 1n VIA BURTON~ SAID STREET
IACATED WITHIN THE TERRITORIAL LIMITS OF THE CITY 0'c` .~NAHEIM.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Anaheim has had for consider-
ation and did receive a letter dated May 18, 1962~ from Messrs. ihomas P. Walker
and William H. Cies, General Partners of the Houston Land Company and owners of the
entire frontage on both sides of Cies Street that the proposed change in name of a
street is located vrithin the territorial limits of the City of Anaheime AND
WHERFAS, the Planning Commission did adopt on May 28, 1962, Resolution No. 345,
Series 1961-62, recommending to the City Council the proposed street name change,
as follows:
Cies Street to Via Burton Street -- located just north of the Riverside Free-
way and running between Placentia and
S+:ate College Boulevard.
ANDy WHEREAS, the proposed name is n~ore campatibie with and more identifiable ~
with the City of Anaheim; AND~
WHERFJ,S, the propospd name change will eliminate the confusion created by the
westerly e~ctension of Via Burtnn Street from Cies Stsaet;
NOW~ THEREF.)RH~ BE IT RESOLVED THAT TFIE PLANNING CQNAIISSI~JN OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
REOOMMENDS 'PO THE CITY COUNCIL TfiAT THE STREET HEE2EIA~ INDICATED BY RENAMED AS PRO-
POS~~ INSOFAR AS SAID STREET IS YlITHIN THE TERRITORIAL LIMITS OF THE CI'~Y OF ANA-
HEIM.
