1 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PT.ANNING COMMISSIOh OF THE CITY GF ANAHEIk! RECOMN~NDING
TO TIiE CITY COUNCZL THAT A LAND USE POLICY BE ESTABiISFiED RELATIVE TO SERVICr
2 STATION LOCATION IN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM.
3 WHEREAS, £fie City Planning Commission of the City of Anaheim is undertaking
the formulation and adoption of a General- Plan of land use, and is presently
4 reviewing and preparing amendments to the Anaheim Zoning Ordinance, said General
Plan and amandments to be discussed at public hearinqs within a reasonable time; .
5 AND
6 WIiEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City of Anaheim does find auto-
mobile service stations to be an intensive commercial use which, due to noise,
7 light and ~lare, dust and other related characteristics a.re determined to be
incompatible with residential uses of land; AND

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT in c'rder to protect the public health, safety, .
9 and general welfare of the City of Anaheim, the Planning Commission hereby adopts
the following land use policy stateme~ts:

THAT, service stations should be established only in those areas developed
1]. or proposed for commercial or industrial use; AND
12 THAT, due to the d•~ssimilar intensity of land use, hours of operation,
performance characteristics and the tendency to constitute an entering wedge for '
13 strip commercial development, such uses should be specifically excluded from
those areas developed or proposed for residential use; AND

THAT, the City Planning Commission of the City of Anaheim does adopt this
15 policy as a general land use guide within which the merits of individual applica-
tions might better be considered; AND
16
THAT, this policy shall remain in full force and effect until such time as
17 said policy is properly incorporated into an adopted comprehensive General Plan
and properly provided for in an adopted Zoning Ordinance.
