Y : ~: ~~' ~ NOTES Tho Anaheim Munieipal Code: Chapter 18.08 defines an automobile service stotion as: "A retail place of business engaged primarily in the sale of motor fuels but also supplying goods and services generally required in the operation and maintenance of automotivo vehicles, under 1-1/2 tons capacity, and the fulfilling of the motorists neads. This may include the sale of petroleum products, tires, batteries, aceessories, and lubrication items; the performanca of minor automotive maintanance, rapair, washing, and.lubrieation services when conducted within the servica station building; and the supplying of other customer services or products. AIl now and used merchandise shall ba stored and displayed in the service station building, except tires, batteries, accessorias and lubri cation items whieh may be maintainad in movable or enclosable ca6ineSs c: rc~ks specially designed forthe display of this merchandise. All signs, including sandwich signs, flags, banners, and rotating davices shall be proh:bited exeapt permanentfixed (including price signs), rotating, or marquea signs authorizad by this Code or approved by tha City Council. Major automotive repairs, painting, body and fendar work, and tho rental of trailers and heavy equipmant ara excluded except where such uses ara otherwise permitted". 1. LANDSCAPIPIG: Planter areas and tree wells shall be constructed ond equipped with irrigation facilities and landscapad prior to final building inspection. A landscaping plan si~all ba submit4ed to and subjactto the approval of the Superintendent of Parkway Maintenance. Evergreen shrubbery, a maximum of 30 inches in height, for the planter areas, and ona 15 gallon Washingtonia Robusta Palm for each tree well is racammanded. The two-foot wide planter aroas are required along all street side property linas, provided that they shall be construeted not less than 3 feet from any driveway, as noted on the typical plot plan. No signs or struetures of any kind shal~ ba located in tha pianter areas, except permanent signs and flagpoles authorized by the Anaheim Municipal Coda or approvad by the City Council. The bottom of tha faee of any such sign shall be located not less than 8 feet above ground leval, in order to maintain clear visibility across said planter areas. lf the proparty is classifiad in tha A~'-1 and fhe P•L Zones, theso Standards shall apply, provided that the service station building, exclusive ~f saparate or at4ached pump islands shelters, shall conform to the 50-foot building setback line of the P-L Zone. 2. WALLS: Where adjacent to developed residential proparty, or where only separateu therefrom by ' an alley, a 6~foot mosonry wall, stepped down to 42 inches within 15 faet of the front prope-ty line shall ba constructed, provided that tho height of said wall shall be measurad from tha highast finishad or axisting grade level of subject or abutting properties. Where tha daveloprt~ent of adjaeent property is undetermined, a bond for said wall may be posted, subject to aFproval of Davelopment Review. 3. SIGNS: The provisions contained in tha definition of an automobile service station, as definad in the Anaheim Municipal Code: Chapter 18.08 shall apply, providad that all signs shall be prohibited ' within the setback area baTween the street side property line(s) and the face of the pump islands ~ axtended, exeept permanent fixed (excluding price signs), roTating or marquea signs authorized by the Municipal Code or by the City Council. 4. LIGHTS: Any lights, provided to illuminate or advertise the sarvica station, shall be directad ' away from adjacent residential proparties and streets so as not to cause a nuisance. , 5.
