A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM RE~MMENDING
TO THE CITY ODUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM THE CHANGE IN NAME OF LOS ANGELES STREET,
SAID STREET IACATED WITH7N TIiE TERRITORIAL LIMI~'S OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIMo
WHEREAS, a request from the Chamber of Commerce of the City of Anaheim was submitted
to the City Council requesting that consideration be given to a name change for Los Angeles
Street in order to receive proper identification on the Santa Ana Freeway, previously denied
by the State Dvision of Higrways, and
WHEREASy the City Councii did request that the City P'lanning Commission and Planning
Department make a study to determine whether a public hearinq should be set to consider a
name change for said street9 and
WHEREAS9 the City Planning Commission did conduct a Public Hearing on the proposed
change in name from Los Angeles Street to Anaheim Boulevard~ and
WHERr11S9 ine City Flanning Commission dfa find at saia public heoring that the new street
name, when properly identified on the Santa Ana Freeway di.rectional signs, should not cause
confusion to the motoring public, but rather that it shc~uld have significance to the central
Anaheim area.
NOWy THERER?RE, BE IT RESOLVID that the Plann3ng Commission of the City of Anaheim
recommends to the City Council a change in name for Los Angeles Street, extending from
Orangewood Avenue on the south to Harbor Boul.evard on the north, to Anaheim Boulevarc} and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED9 that it be recommended to the Orange County Street Naming
Committee that the f•rontage road extending southerly from Orangewood Avenue to State College
Boulevard be renamed from Los Angeles.Street to Anaheim Boulevard.
BE IT FURxHFR RESOLVED9 that ihe name of Los Angeles Street shail be posted concurrently
