A RESOLUfION OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMSSSION OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
RECOMN~F.NDING I~0 THE CITY OOUNCII. OF THE CITY-OF ANAHEIM
THE AMENDMENT TO TTfLE Ei~GHTEEN OF THE ANAHEIM MUNICIPAL CODE
BY THE ADDTIION OF CHAPTER 62, SIGNS, ADVERTISING SIGNS AND STRUCTURES
iYt~REAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim has heretofore expressed a
~re to be relieved of the myriad details associated with the approval of numerous
apecific advertising sig~ reque$ts; and
WHEREAS, the said City Counc.il has requested that a comprehensive ordinance
regulating signs~ advertising signs and structures bR prepared and presented to said City
Council~ which comprehensive ordinance would enable sign requests to be processed through
the administrative channels of the Building Department of the City of Anaheim at the time
of the issuance of buiiding permi~s for such signss and
WFIEREAS, signs and advertising structures are deemed to bs "structures" on
the land within th~ meaning of both the.Anaheim Municipal Code and '05800 et seq. of thz
Government Codej and
VYHEREAS, 65800 et seq. of the Government Code requires that such a compre-
hensive sign ordinance be initiated and adopted through Fublic hearings to be held before
both the Planning Commission and the City CouncilR and
WHEREAS~ the City Council has referred tne matter of a comprehensive sign
ordinance to the Anaheim City Planning Commission for the purpose of initiating and con-
ductic~g public hearings on such a comprehensive sign ordinance~ and
WHEREAS, the Anaheim City Planning Cortanission did initiate, conduct and re-
ceive evidence at several public hearings held before said Comnission; and
WHEREAS, the Anaheim City Planning Commission did recommend for approval a
comprehensive sign ordinance at the regqlar meeting of the Anaheim City planning Commission
held on September 21~ 1964,
NOW, TFIEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Anaheim City Planning Commission does
recommend to the City Council of the City of Anaheim the adoption of an amendment to
Title 18 of the Anaheim Municipal Code by the addition of Chapter 18.62--ORDINANCE
REGULATING SIGNS~ ADVERTISING SIGNS~ AND STRUCTURES -- which Chapter 18.62 is attached
hereto~ marked Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof as though fully set forth herein.
