REOONWIENDING 'PO THE CITY ~UNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHfiIM THAT

INHEREAS, upon annexation of certain property in the northeast Maheim area, a
duplication of Walnut Str.eet was noted; and
WHEREAS, The United St:`es Post Office Department is desirous of eli~ninating
as many duplication of street names as possible in order to facilitate easier and
fastex processing of the mai.ls; and
WHERFAS, the Planning Commission did hold dL~ly advertised public hearii~gs on
February 15, and March 1, 1965 for the cons3deration of a street name change for
the Walnut Street located ir the northeast Anaheim area, to consider and hear
evidence for and against said street name change; an~
Wl~RFAS, Walnut Street located on the westerly periphery of the Center City
Area and extending from Santa Ana Street southerly to Katella Avenue, and is almost
completely developed or acts as the westerly.boundary of Disneyland; and
WHERFAS, development of Walnut Street in the northeast Maheim area is primarily
agricultural; and
WHF~EAS, upon the ultimate extension of La Palma Avenue easterly to the Imperial
Freeway its said extension will align with the present Walnut Street easterly of
Yan Buren Street, making a smali portion extending easterly from Jefferson Street to
a point approximately 500 feet east of Van Buren Street carrying the name of Walnut
Street; and
WHERE4S, the remaining portion of Walnut Street is on a direct alignment with
Coronado Street which presently has an easterly terminus at Autonetics.
NAW, THEREtaRE BE IT RESOLVID that the City Planning Commission of the City of
Anaheim does recommend to the City Council of the City of Maheim that Walnut Street
located in the east Anaheim area extending easterly from Jefferson Street to a point
approximately 500 feet east of Van Buren '~e changed to Coronado Street based on the
foregoing findings.
