Series 1964-65 A AE50LltfION OF THE CITY PLANNII~ ~MMISSION OF THE CITY OF ANAHQM REODMMENDING I'D THE CITY ~UNCIL OF THE QTY OF ANAHQM THAT GENFRAL PLAN AMFNDMENT 1~. 55, CIRCULAI'ION ELEMFM' HIGHNIAY RIGHTS-0F-WAY, BE APPROVID MHPRFIIS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did adopt a General Plan by Resolution No. 63R-869~ showing the ge~seral description and extent of land uses and the Circulation Element - High~-ay Rights-of-Ilay wittiin the City and indicating the present belief o£ the Council as to possible future development and redevelopment of the land within the City; and M4iERFJIS, the City Planning Commission did hold a public hearing at the City Hall in the City of Maheim on March 29, 1965, at 2t00 0'clock P.M., notice of said public hearing having b~en duly given as required by la~v and in accordance with the provisionsof the Anaheim Municipal Code, to hear and consider evidence for and against said Amendment to the General Plan, Circulation Element -Highway Rights-of-Way, proposing to amend the designation of Jeffersoo - Linda Vista Street (regardless of the precise alignment) between Qrangethorpe Avenue and the Riverside Freeway from a primazy to a major highway; and WHFAFJIS, said Commfssion after due inspection, investigation, and study made by itself and in its behalf an~ after due consideration of all evidence and repcrts offered at said hearing, DOES HF1tFBY FIND. 1. That the County of Orange planning Cortmission has scheduled a public hearing on April 7, 1965, to consider an amendment to the County Master Plan of Streets and Highways classifying Jefferson-Linda Vista Street, between Orangethorpe Avenue and the Riverside Frseway fran its present classification as a Primary Highway to a Major Highway. 2. ?hat the Anaheim General Plan Circulation Element - Highway Rights-of-Way presently classifies Jefferson-Linda Vista Street as a Primary Hi,hway. 3. That the Economics Research Associates report entitled "Preliminary Evaluations of Industrial Use Potentials irt the Atwood Cone Area° prepared in 1964, indicated that proje;~ted traffic volumes, resulting from anticipated physical development in the Atwood Cone, would exceed the capacity of the present Jefferson-Linda Vista Street classification. 4. That the 'fraffic Engineer of the Engineering Department has analyzed the traffic development in the Northeast Industrial Area, and has recommended upgrading the classification of Jefferson-Linda Vista Streat to a I+lajor Highrray. 5. That the Orange County Road DeparLnent's studies estimate the ultimate traffic count for Jefferson-Linda Vista Street as 30,004 vehicles per day. NOM1~ THFREFORc, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Planning Commission of the City of Anaheim does hereby recommend to the City Council of the City of Anaheim that subject General Plan Amendment be approved on the basis of the aforementioned findings. . ~ , BE I~' FUti?HER QES~LVED that the City Council recommend to the Orange County Planning Cortonission that the designation of Jefferson-Linda Vista Street between the Riverside Freeway and Orangethorpe Avenue be reclassified on the Orange County ~Iaster Plan of Streets and Highways from its present Primary Highway designation to a Major Highway designation.
