MI~REAS, the revised C-1, General Comoercial, Zone permits outdoor plant nurseries
as s primary usa; and
ME~RBAS~ all other C-1 usas, with Lhe exception of service stations, are required
to be conducted within a buildlnq; and
MHFRE/~S, the outdoor sale of nursery goods and supp2ies when a part of a small •
naighborhood stwpping center, maybe adjacent to residential uses which could create a
nu~sance.factor; and
MHEREAS. the City Planning Commission did hold a public hearing at the City Hall
in ths City oF MaAaim on April 12, 1965, at 2i00 0'clock P.Y., notice of said public
haazing ~aving been duly given as required by larr and in accordance with the provisions
of tha Maheim Municipal Code. to hear and consider evidence for and against said
propoaed amendmerlt and to investigate and make findings and recommendations in connection
tharerrittu and
~REAS, upon considPraLion of evidence submitted for the Commission's consideration
it.has baen determined that in order.to maintain the privacy and residential integrity
of an araa in which en outdoor plant nursery is proposed, this shall be determined
after the petitioner has filed a conditional use permit in conjunction with a reclassi-
f ication potition if the property is not presently in the most appropriate zone.

Maha.im does hereby recomnend to the Ctty Council of the City of Mahetm that Titie
Ei,ghteen~ of the Mah~im Municipal Code, Chapter 18.40, Crl, General Commercial, Zone be
amended as followrt
"Section 18.40.040(b) OUTDOOR USES - PLANT NURSERIES" be deletec~ and the addition
of
"SaGt3on 18.40.060(h) OOt~I?IONAL USFS - PI.AE~f I~BJRSFRIES".
