PC66-1G3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING ~h1A'iSSION OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM RECOhJuIENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM .A STP,E.~I' tJAME CHAh'GE FOR GARNEC STREEI LOCATED NORTHERL`i OF BROADWAY TO ARCHER STREEf THEREfO WHEREAS, a request uas receiv2d to investigate Che reason ;or the assignment o: two names to one street located easterly of drookhurst Street northerly and soutnerly of Broadway; anc~ WHEREA5, in order to provide for consistency in street n.ames wi~l~in the city limits or' the City of Anaheim it ~vas found tl~at a cnange in straet name was deemed necessary :or Garnet Street; and ' WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission dio rold a pubiic F~earing at tne City Ha11 in tl~e City of Anaheim on September 26, 1966, at 2:00 0'-1oc4 P.M., notice of said public !~~earing having been duly given as required by la~,~ and in accordance with t'~e provisions of th2 Anaheim Municipal Code, to hear and consider evidence ;or and against said proposed street name change, and to investigate and make findings and recommendations in connection therewith; and WNEREAS, said Commission, after due inspection, investiga;i~n, and study made by itself snd in its behalf, and after due consideration or all evidence and reports oifered at said 'nearing, does find and determine tl~e following: 1, That Garnet Street, which was a part of Tract No. ?_~99 was recorded in August, 1954, and that Arci~er Street, which ~vas a part of Tract No~ 19~R ti~~as r?corded in December, 1959, Garnet Street being tne northerly extension of krc":er Street, nortf: ~t Broadway. 2. That there are only three (3} horres having a Garnet Street zddress who will be afiected if a street name change is recomrnended for Garr~et Street, v~hereas fifty-five (55) tiomes would be affected if krcher Street is recommended for street name change. 3. That the Rnaheim Post Office, upon b?ing contacted, f~ave indicated t}~at no problem in servicing said homes on Garnet Street will be encountered i: the street name is changed to Archer Street. 4. That the three property owners invol~ed in said street name change, upon beina contacted, did not voice any oppos:tion. IdOW, THERcFORE, BE I'f RESOLVED, that the City Planning Commission o: :he City of Anaheim does hereby recommend to the City Council of the City of Anaheim tnat a street name change f'or Garnet Street be made, renaming it Archer Street, said street beinc~ located just easter:y of Brookhurst Street and north of BroadNay, on tne basis of th~ af~rementioned findings.
