A R~SOLUTION OF THE CITY PLAN~ING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM REOOMMENDIIJG TO THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF /V~AHEIM AN AMENDM6NT TO TITLE 1~ OF THE ANAHEIM

TO INCLUDE THF R-H, i0,000, RESIDENTIAL HILLSIDE, ZONE, THERETO
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission has recommended in Resolutior Nr,. PC66-146,
the establishment of the R-H, 10,000y Residential Hills?de, Low Density Single Family
Zone; known as Chapter 1R~13; and
WI{FREAS, the General Provisions section o: Chapter 1R.04 does not include said
R•-H Zone permitting the maintenance of birds and animals for domestic non-commercial
use; and
WHER~AS, it is deemed appropriate to have all chapters of the residential zones
which permit birds and animals, to reflect this permitted use; and
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission did hold a public hearing at the City Hall
in the City of Anaheim on November 7, 19669 at 7:00 0'clock P.M., notice of said puhlic
hezring having been duly givan as required by law and in ar.cordance with th? provisions
of the Anaheim Municipal Code to hear and consider evidence for and against said proposed
amendment to Title iR of the Anaheim Municipal Code, and to investigate and make findings
and recommendations in connection there,~~ith; and
WHERF_AS, said Commission, after due inspection, investigation and study made by
itself and in its behalf, and after due consideration of all evidence and reports offered
at said hearing does find and determine that in order to have unifoxmity in the administer-
ing of the zoning code that Section 1R.04.020(~) be amended to include tl~e R-H Zone.
NC7N, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Planning Commission of the Ci.ty of
Anaheim does hereby recommend to the Gity Council of the City of Anaheim that an amendment
to the Anaheim Municipal Code Title 1~, Chapter 1R.04, Section 1Ra04.020(6) be made to
include reference to the R-H, 10,000, Residential Hillside Lova Density Sinyle Famiiy Zone
as follolvs~
"Section 1R.04,020 GENERAL PROVISIONS-USE GENERAL
(6) The maintenance of birds and animais for domestic non-commercial use
shall be permitted in the R-A, R-•0, R•-E, and R-H, 10,000, Zones only,
and said birds or animals shall be maintained in coops, pens or stat•les
or other quarters, provided said coops, pens, stables and other auarters
shall not be located within forty (40) feet of any window or door o:
any building useci for human habitation, or not less than twenty (20) feet
of side lot iines. Further, the maintenance of such birds or animals sha11
be subject to tne provisions of Chapter R.,.~ of this Code and the follow~ino:
(a) Pouitry, rabbits and cavies shall not exceed 24 birds or animals
per acre.
(b) Horses shall not exceed four adult anirnals and their immature
offspring on a minimum one-acre site.
(c) Cattle, sheep and goats shall be permitted on parcels of land
fi•re (5) acres or mor.e in area; }iowever, the number o:' animals
sha11 not exceed a total of two (2) per each acre."
