PC66-159 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING CX~MMISSION REODI~WIENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANNHEIM A STREET NAME CHAI~GE FOR THE CUL-DE-SAC PORTIOtJ OF LA PALMA : A'J~NUE EXTE~IDING PJORTH AND WEST OF THE EXISTIIJG ALIGNMENT TO VJHITESTAR AVENU~ THERETO ,,~:~ ,i~ 'NHEREP,S, upon ihe completion of the La Palma Avenue overcrossing at the Riverside FreeUlay, the orioinal right-of-way was cul-de-saced at the westerly terminus adjacent to t.ne Riversid~ Freeway; and WHEREAS, tt;e City Planning Commission did hold a public hearing at the City Hall in lhe City oi Anaheim on November 21, 1966, at 2:00 U'clock P.M., notice of said public hearing having been duly given as required by law, to hear and consider evidence ;or and against said sLree~ namp change, and to investiyate and make findings and recommendations in connect.ion thcrer;ith; and VJHEREAS, to avoid confusion in having two streets with Lhe s~me name it is deemed r~e,:essary tt~ai tl~e ~.ul-de-sac. portion of the original right-of-way of La Palma Avenue be re~~am2d; ar.d WNEREAS, said Cormnission, after due inspection, investigation, and study nade by itsalf and in its bei~alf, and after due consideration of all evidence and reports oYfereci at said hearing, does ;ind and determine tne following facts: 1. T}~at ~he ne•N alignment of La Palma Avenue made necessary the termination of t.he old alignment at the Riverside Free~Nay, thus creating two ~treets with f.he sdme name. 2~ Tt;ac the original alignment is a logical extension of Whitestar Avenue, which lies southeasterly of the neN alignment of La Palma Avenue. 3. That except for a 350-Foot portion of the original alignment o; La Pa:ma Avzr:ue Lhe balance of the street is within the jurisdiction of the County of Oranga, and in order to ha•~e continuity of street names the recommended ct~ange to YJhiteslar Aver.ue a15Q should be recommended to the County of Oranye Planning Commission. .~~ ,•~ .~ ,~ ~ ~ ~ ,~ ~ , :i ~.
