WHEREAS, the City Plenning Commission did hold a public hearing at the City Hall in the City of Anaheim on
August 29~ 1966 at 2:00 o'clock P.M., notice of seid publtic heerin havin been dul
law a~d in accorda~ce with the provisions of the Anaheim Municipal Code, Chapter 18.68, to hear and c~s der ev dence or
and against said proposed veriance end to investigate and meke findin~s and recommendetions in connection therewith;
end
WHEREAS, seid Commission, after due inspection, investigetion, and study mede by itself end in its behalf,
and efter due considEretion of ell evidence and reports ofEeced es seid hearing, does find and detecmine the following
fects:
1. That the petitioner requests a veriance from the Anaheim Municipal Code: to perT,it erection of two free-
stanair.y siyr,s on suojec; property~ Section 1Re62.090(b-1),one 25 foot hiqh free-standing sign
permitted, two 36 :oot high free-standing signs proposed~
?_o That the property is so iocated that a single sign, in <~onformance with the Siqn
~rdinance, iocated at the i:cr~Fwes; corner of the property end oriented both to Kate:la and
State Cci;ege Boulevard would provi~e adequate signing for the service station.
3~ That ±he Sign Ordinar,ce provides for adequate directional sigr.ino and many other
oii companies have constructed siqr.s in conformance h•ith the sign ordinance including the
Standard Oi] Company service staticn at the r:ertheast corner of Katella and Brookhurst, and that.
the petitioner has not proven th.~t tY~ere were any exceptional or extraordinary ~ircumstances or
condit:ons ahich wou~id necess:tate grantina the requested variance.
4. That the requested variance is not necessary for the preservation and enjoyment of
a subst~ntial property :ight possesse~.i b•,~ other property in the same vicinity and zone, and
denied to the property in ques±ion~

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED thet the Aneheim CIty Plenning Commisslan does hereby deny subject
Petition for Variance on the besis of the aforementioned findings.
