OF TH6 ANAHEIM GENERAL PLAN BY APPROVING GEN~[tAL
PLAN AMENDMENT N0. 106
WHEREAS, the City Council.of the City of Anaheim did adopt a Highway Rights-of-Way
; Circulation Element of the General Plan by Resolution Noa 63R-869 depicting the ult3mate
~ rights-of-way of streets within the ~ity; and
~~,.r WHEREAS, Orange Avenue easterly of Western Avenue is presently designated as a
~ •r, standard 90-£oot arterial street on the Circulation Element; and that Orange Avenue
'"' westerly of Western.Avenue is designated as a secondary arterial, but an exception
'~~`~ 30 feet on the north of and 57 feet on the south of the centerline, which creates a
~~` j~:
~, hazardous offset at the intersection of West ern and Orange Avenues; and
WHHREAS, the City Planning Commission did hold a public hearing in the City Hall
in the ~ity of Anaheim on August 12, .1968, at 2:00 0'clock P.M.> notice of said.public
hearing having been duly given as required by law and in accordance with the provisions
of the Anaheim Municipal Code, .to hear.and consider evidence for .and against said amend-
ment to the Highway Rights-of-Way ~irculation of the General plan and to investigate and
make tindings and recommendations in connection therewith; and
WHEREAS, said Commission after due insp ection, investigation, and sttdy made by
itself and in its behalf and after due consideration of all evidence and reports off ered
at said hearing, DOES HERF.BY FIND:
1. That evidence was presented at said hearing which would justify the City
P:lanning Commission recommending a change in the.above mentioned Highway
Rights-of~Way Circulation Element of the General Plan to the City Council.
2, That th e City Engineer recommends that in order to alleviate the hazard
presently existing at the intersection of Western and Orange Avenues that
a reverse curve be provided easterly of Western Avenue.
3, That in..arder to provide the reverse curve the Highway Rights-of-Way Map,
Table of Except.ions, would have to be amended to designate Orange Avenue
from Western Avenue to 335 f eet easteriy to show variations on the north
from 45 to 33 feet and on the south side from 45 to 57 feet, as depicted
on Exhibit "A".
NOW, TH~REFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Planning Commission does hereby recommend
to.the City Council of the City of Ans~heim the adoption of General Plan Amendment No. 106,
which would amend the Circulation E];Mment, Highway Rights-of-Way Map, and Table of
Exceptions as depicted on Exhibit "A", on the basis of the aforementioned findings.
