FC66'-~0 ~ ._) A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING OpMNISSION OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM RECAMMENDING Tb THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM THAT ~AST STRE£T NORTNERLY OF THE RIVERSIDE FREEWAY WITHIN TH£ CITY OF ANAHfiIt~i B£ CHAI4GED T0 RAYMOND AVENUE THHRETO WHEREAS, a request from the Orange County Street Naming Committee for consideration of a str'e?t name change for the westerly portion of East 5treet northerly of the Riverside Freeway to Orangethorpe be renamed Raymond Avenue in order to avoid confusion with two street designations within two city jurisdictions and for proper signing on the Freeway; and WHEREAS,.the Planning Commission did set for public hearing consideration of a street name chano? for East Street to be•considered on August 12, 1958; and WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission did hold a public hearing in the ~ity Hall in the ~ity of Anaheim on August 12, 1968, at 2:00 0'clock P,N., notice of said public hearing having been duly given as required by law and in accordance with the proviSions of the Anaheim Municipal Code,to hear and consider evidence for and against said proposed name change, and to investigate and make findings and recommendations in connection therewith; and WHEREAS, said Commission, after due inspection, investigation, and study made by itself and in its b~ehalf, and after due consideration of all evidence and reports offered at said hearing, does find and determine the following'facts: 1. That the street extending between the Riverside Freeway and Orangethorpe Avenue has a dual name - namely, East 5treet in the City of Anaheim and Raymond Avenue in the ~ity of Fullerton. 2. That the same street alic~nment northerly of Orangethorpe Avenue is singiy named Raymond Avenue although within the same two city jurisdictions. 3. That less confusion would result if one street name were assigned northerly of the freeway, however retaining the East Street name within the City of Anaheim south of the Freeway. 4• That two industrial firms aff ected by the street name change have indicated they would not oppose the change. N~W, THEREFORE, B£ IT R~SOLVED that the City Plann•ing Commission does hereby recommend to the ~ity Councii of the City of Anaheim that the west side of East Street north of the Riverside. Freeway be renamed Raymond' Avenue on the basis of the foregoing findings.
