PC68-261 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM THAT PETITION FOR VARIANCE N0. 200? gg ,q='L?OV£D WHEREAS, the City Plenning Commission of the City of Anaheim did receive a verified Petition for Veiiance from GULF OIL CORPORATION, P.O. Box 10663, Santa Ana, California 92711, Owner; GENERAL MAINTEiJANCE, INCORPORATED, P:O. Box 5639, Buena Park; California 90620, Agent of certain real property situated in the City of Anaheim, County of Orange, State of California, described as Lot No. 1 of Tract No. 6383 ; and WHEREAS, the City Plenning Commission did hold a public hearing at the City Hall in the City of Aneheim on August 26~ 1968~ at 2:00 o'clock P.M., notice of said public hearing having been duly given as raquired by law and in accordance with the provisions of the Aneheim Municipal Code, Chepter 18.68, to I~ear and consider evidence for and against said proposed variance and to investigate end make findings end recommendations in connecticn therewith; and WHEREAS, said Commission, after due inspection, investigation, and study mede by itself and in its behalE, end efter due consideration of ell evidence and reports oifeced at said hearing, does find and determine the following fects: 1. That the petitioner requests a variance from the Anaheim Municipal Code as follows~ to erec± two free- standing signs on subject property: SECTION 18,62.090 ~ Number of free-standina sians (One permitted; two proposed)o Distance betw@en fre,g-standin si ns. (300 feet required; 200 feet proposed). SECPION 18,62.09~ B~5 - Location of free-standinca sian from ro ert line (60 and 71. f eet required; 5 and 2 fggt proposed . 2. That there are exceptional or extraordinary circumstances or conditions applicable to the property involved or to the intended use of the propPSty that do not apply generaliy to the property or class of use in the same vicinity and zone. 3. That the requested variance is necessary for the preservation and enjoyment of a substant.ial property right possessed by other property in the same vicinity and zone, and denied to the property in questiona 4o That the requested variance will not be materiall~ detr.imental to the ~ublic wel.fare or ir.jurious to the property or improvements in such vicinity and zone in which the property is located. 5. That approvai of subject petition shall not be construed as establishing a precedent, since the lor,ation of the service station necessitates exposure to the freeway with other than a sign as permiited by Code, due to construction of a highrise motel which would obstruct normal signing and residential uses are not aff ected.
