WHEREAS, the ~ity ~ouncil of the City of Anaheim did adopt a General Plan by
4=~ '" Resolution No. 63R-869, showing the general description and extent of land uses, and
: the Circulation Element of Streets and Highways w:thin the City of Anaheim; and

~ +< WHEREAS, notice Was given regarding the consideration of an amendment to the
.4'' ~ti G'eneral Plan in the eneral location and vicinit of the ro osed chan e in the

, ~~ designation of Orangethoxp:e Avenue on the Table of Exceptions; and

`, WHEREAS, tn2 ~ity Planning Commission did hold a public hearing at the City
Hall in the City of Anahefm on Sept ~nber 11, 1968, at 2:00 0'clock P.M., notice of
'~~~, ~said public hearing having been duly given as required by law and in accordance with
the provisions of the Anaheim Municipai Code,to hear and consider evidence for and
against said Amendment to the General Plan and to investigate and make findings and
recommendations in connection therewith; and

`; WHEREAS, said Gommission after due inspection, investigation and study made by
itself and in its behalf and after due consideration of all evidence amd reports off ered
, at said.hearing, D~ES HERIDY FINDs
. 1. That Orangethorpe Avenue from Kraemer Boulevard on the west to 185 feet
west of Linda Vista Street on the east is now shown on the Highway Rights-
of-Way Map of the Circulation E1Qinent of the G eneral Plan as a standard
; ma3or arterial street.
-1 2. That the present traffic flow through this area is 6,600 vehicles per
~~~ day, and is projected to increase to 15,000 vehicles by 1978 and 20,000

'~ vehicles per day by 1988.
3. That th,e Ciiy of Placentia and the County of Orange retain a street width
`~ of 120 f eet west of Kra ~ner Boulevard.
4. That because of the location of the Atchison Topeka and Sotlta Fe Railroad
;;:.~ on the south of Orangethorpe Avenue, the street width nax4ows from Crowther
Avenue easterly.
5. That subject area is acting as a transition from•a standard major arterial
to a less than standard major arterial.
6. That Orangethorpe Avenue is classified as a ma~or arterial on the Orange
County Master Plan of Arterial Highways.
7. That a half-width of 53 f eet is deemed adequate for this transition area

NOW, THEREFOR,E~ BE IT RESOLVED that the City Plenning Commission of the City of
Anaheim does her eby recommend to the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the
Circa~latiorr Elenent - Highway.Rights-of-Way of the General Plan be amended by the
approval of General Plan Amendment No. 108, piacing Orangethorpe Avenue from Kraemer
Boulevard on the west to a point 185 feet we Linda Vista Street on the eas on
the Table of Exceptions rAquiring a 53-foot alf- dth.
