A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM.RECAMMENDIldG
TO THE CITY t~UNCT.L OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM THAT AN AMENDMENL'BE MADE TO THE
CIRCULATION ELEf4EtJT - HIGHWAY RIGHTS-OF-WAY BY PLACIiw CERRITOS AVENUE
BETWEEN WALNUT AND WBST S?REETS AS AN EXCEPTION BY APPROVING GENERAL
PLAN AMENDMENT N0. 109, TH£RETO
WHEREAS, the City Council of th2 City of Anaheim did adopt a General Plan by
Resolution No. 63R-869,.showing the general description and extent of land uses; and
the Circulation Element of Streets and Highways within the City of Anaheim; and
~ WHEREAS, notice was.given.regarding the.consideration of an amendment to the
General Plan, in the general location and vicinity of the proposed change in the
designation.of Cerritos Avenue on the Table of Exceptions; and
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission did hold a public hearing at the City Hall
in.the ~ity of Anaheim, on September 11, 1968, at 2:00 0'clock P.M., notic! of said
public hearing having been duly given as required by law and in acc;ordance with the
provisions of the Anaheim Municipal Code, to hear and consider evidence for and against
said Amendment to the General Plan•and to investigate and make findings and recommendations
in connection therewith; and
WHEREAS, said Commission after due inspection, investigation and study made by
itself and in its behalf and after due consideration of all evidence and reports
off ered at said hearing, DOES HF.EtEBY FIND: ~
1. That Cerritos Avenue from Walnut to West Streets is now shown on the
Highway Rights-of-Way of the Circulation Element of the General Plan
as a standard secondary arterial street.
2. That the Disneyland Hotel is presently constructing an additional 330
rooms and are also adding a convention center to the hotel complex.
3. That in conjunction with the hotel expansion, additional off-street
parking will be constructed north of Cerritos Avenue.
4. That the existing heliport facility is proposed to double the landing
and take-off area.
5. That `.he present traffic count is 8,000 vehicles per day and is estimatec.'
to gc o 12,500 vehicles upon.completion of the new construction, and is
furtY_ ~~ projected to reach 14,000 vehicles per day by 1980.
I 6. That the Traffic Engineer racommends that a center median be installed
to assist in channeling the traffic, and that the right-of-way be 40
feet south of the centerline and 57 feet north of the centerline of the
street.
7, That because of the vehicular traffic count predicated and the design capacity
of the street, the retention of Cerritos Avenue as a secondary arterial
with and expansion of the right-of-way width to 97 feet appears logical.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the ~ity Planning Commission of the City of
Anaheim does hereby recommend to the ~ity Council of the City of Anaheim that the
Circulation Element Highway Rights-of-Way of the ~eneral Plan be amendeu placing Cerritos
Avenue between West arid Walnut Streets on the Table of Exceptions requiring dedication
of 40 feet on the a•outh side and 57 f eet on the north side of the centerline of the
street, by the approral of General Plan Amendm t No. 109. ,
