PC68-32g ' v: -2 A RESOLUI'ION OF THE CITY PLANNING OOMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ~ ;'~ RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL THAT AN AMENDM~NT BE MADE ' ;~; TO TITLE 18 OF THE ANAHEIM MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE ~ - ADDITION OF SUBSECTION 18.04.075 OF ; CHAPTER 18.04, GENERAL PROVISIONS , WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim in the past has permitted development of many single- ~; family residential homes to front or sid ron arterial streets and highways; and ~: -,-.- ' WHHREAS, because of the great increase of traffic on many of the arterial streets, ~. :~. ~~" continual zoning requests have been received from owners of these homes for conversion ~ •'=t to commercial uses; and .~~ WHERHAS, as a result of these many requests for commercial uses P Commission and staff undertook an extensive study of the problems and solutionslof homes fronting on arterials, which study had been considered at public hearing by both the Commission and City Council and was adopted by the City Council in December, 1967; and WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission did~hold a public hearing at the City Hall _ 1`. in the City of Anaheim on November 4, 1966, at 2:00 0'clock P.M., notice of said public ;s hearing having been duly given as requir.ed by law and in accordance with the provisions of the Anaheim Municipal Code, to hear and consider evidence for and against said ~ proposed amendment and to investigate and make findings and recommendations in connection ~ therewith; and WHEREAS, said Ccmmission, after due inspection, investigation, and study made by itself and in its behalf, and after due consideration of all evidence and reports off ered ~ at said hearing, does find and determine the following facts: ~~ !. 1. That in order that undeveloped properties adjacent to arterials may be a , utilized for residential purposes, and still discourage requests for ~c conversion to commercial purposes, all lots should rear on arterials. , ~j, 2. That the Commission did recommend to the City Council the adoption of °i ~~ an interim policy requiring developers of single-family homes adjacent , ~ to arterials to orient these residential structures so as to "rear-on" ~ ~_~ such highways, until Title 18 of the Anaheim Municipal Code could be amended to include said pol~cy as part of the ordinance. ~ 3. AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AMENDING TITLE 18, CHAPTER 18.04 OF THE ANAHEIM MUNICIPAL OI~DE RELATING TO ZONING THE CITY OOUNCIL OF THE CfTY OF ANAHEIM DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That Title 18, Chapter 18.04, of the Anaheim Municipal Code be, and tt:? same is hereby amended by the addition of the follow3ng section:.
