PC69-116 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PL,~NNING COPdMISSION OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM MAKING CERTAIN RECOtvIIv~NDATICY5 TO THE CSTY CO[JNCTL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM COIdCERNING THE ASSESSMENT OF PROPERTY DE- UOTED TO AGRICULTURE ;R ~~~ ", ~ j . ~ i-: ! i ~ ' ~1 WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Anaheim, with the epproval and concurrer.ce of the City Council has zoned substantial areas as potentiel manufacturing zones limited to manufacturing and closely allied uses; and P~HEREAS, much of said property is presently devoted to agricultural pursuits and cannot be used for other than a limited number of interim uses; and WHEREAS, because of such manufacturing zoning, the County Assessor of the County of Orangs has placed values thereon for e,ssessment purposes v~hich reflect the higher potential manufacturing use; and WHEREAS, the owners thereof find it difficult to realize sufficiont monies from their agricultural pursuits to pay the te,xes based upor, such higher assessments; and P~HEREAS, the Planning Commission finds that it is in the best interests of the City of Anaheim to impose mai~ufacturing re~tricti~ns upon si:ch oreas, but that it is not in the best interests of the City to have such an unbalanced burden of taxation fall upon the farmed land during the long waiting period pending ultimate development.
