WHEREAS, the City Plenning Commission of the City of Anaheim did receive a verlfied Petition for Variance fram

p_oper;y situated in the City of Anaheim, County of Orange, State of Califorr.ia, described
as Pa=cei 1: A portion of ±he Southwest quarter of the Section 13, Township 4 South9
Range 11 West, as shown as Parcel 1, parcel Map Book 5, page 5, recorded in the office o.' the
County Recorder of said Orange County. Parcel 2~ An easernent for roads, parking area,

WHEREAS, the City Plonning Commiaeion did hold a public heerirtg et the City Hell in the City of Aneheim on
Dec?mber 299 1969~ at 2:00 o'clock P,M., notice ;;f seid publlc hearing heving been duly given es required by
law and ln accorden~e with ue provisions of the Aneheim Municipel Code, Chepter 18.68, to hear and consider evidence for
and ageinst seid proposed vorience end to inveatigete end meke findings end recommendations ln connectian therewith;

WHEREAS, eatd Commission, efter due inspection, investigation, and study made by itself and in its behalf,
and after due consideration of all evidence ond repoets offered at snid hearing, does find and detertnine the following
facts:
1. Thet the petitioner requests e varience from the Anaheiin Municipel Code, as follov,~s, to permit the
erection of a 57--foot high double-faced free-standing sign projecting up ar.d through the
canopy :oofline of subject property:

2. That the petitioners demanstrated the existence of a hardship as far as identificatior.

3. That the request for a 57-foot liigh sigri is hereby denied on the basis that the
applicant indicated that a sign 50 feet in he~ght would be adequate to advertise subject
property; therefore, under the authority of Section 18.68.C'S0, the Planning Commission hereby
grants waiver of the required 25-foot high free-standing sign to erect a sign 50-feet high.
4. Th:,t there are exceptional or extraordinary circumstances or conditions applicable to
the property involved or to the intended use of the prbperty that do not apply generally to
the property or class of use in the same vicinity and zone.
5. That the requested variance is necessary for the preservation and enjoyment of a
substantial property right possessed by other property in the same vicinity and zone, and
denied to the property in question.
6. That the requested variance will not be materially detrimental to the public welfare
or injurious to the property or improvements in such vicinity and zone in which the property
is locat?d.

, NOW, THEREFC~RE, BE IT RESOLVED tSat the Aneheim City Planning Commission does hereby grant subject
Petition for Variance, upon the following conditions which are hereby found to be a necessary prerequisite to the pro-
posed use of the subject property in order to preserve the safety and general welfere of the Citizens of the City of
Anaheim.
1. That subject property shall be developed substantially in accordance with pla~s
and specifications on file with the City Of Anaheim marked Exhibit Nos. 1 and 2, provided,
however, that all portions of the sign shall only be a maximum of 50 feet in height.
