A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING CUMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ANnHEIM RECOMMENDING
TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AMENDMEI~TI' TO TITLE 18~ ANAFiEIM
P.1UNICIFAL CODE, CHAPTc"R 18.63, BILIBOARDS, EXTENDING THE SCEN.ZC HIGHWAY
DESIGNATION FOR KATELLA AVENUE THERETO
PlHEREAS, a+. the time the Billboard Ordinance-Chapter 18.63 was adopted, the boundaries
of tF~e City of Anaheim did not include Katella Avenue east of Douglas Street; and
WFIEREAS, it would appear to be i•ather illogical to preclude billboards along the major
portion of Katella Avenue within the city and allow them for that port5on of Katella Avenue
` ~ast of Douglas Streei:, therefore, t}ie Planning Commission deemed it necessary to consider
an amendment to Title 18, Chapter 18.63, Billbcar.ds; and
; VdHEREAS, the City ?lanning Comr~ission d:d hc7.d a public hearing at the City Hall in
rt~ the City of Anaheim on October 19, 197"v, at 2:00 0'clock P.M., notice of said public hearing
having been duly given as required by law and in accordance with the provisions of the Anaheim
~ Municipal Code, to hear and considez evidence for and against said proposed Code amendment
and ±o investigate and make findings and recommer.dations in connection therewith; and
1. That the present Douglas Street termination point for a scenic highway
designation for Katella Avenue is outrr~oded and said termination point
! should `~~; r•~tended easterly to the centerline of the Santa Ana River.

2. That the area east of Douglas Street is tlie entrance to the City of
Anaheim's newly-expanded commercial-recreation area, and the Anaheim
stadium, and therefore, unsightly biliLaards should not be permitted
vahere they could have a detrimental impact upon visitors to ttie City
in this general area.
3. That it would be illogical to preclude billboards along the major
portion of Katella Avenue within the city and all,,+ them within a
small area that serves as the easi:erly eni:rance to the City.
NOW, TNEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Anaheim City Planning Commission does hereby
recommend to the City Councii of the City or" Anal~eim amendment to Title 18 Zoning of the
Anaheim Municipal Code, Chapter 18.63, Eillboards as depicted on Exhibit "A" attached hereto
and referred to herein as though set forth in fullo

TITLE 18, CHAPTER 18.63, SECTION 18.63.030
OF THE; ANAF~IM ~UNICIPAL CODE.
THE CTTY COUNCTL OF Tf~ ~ITy pF qNAf~IM DOES ORDAIN
AS POLL07:3:
" SECTION 1.

~ That Title 18, Chapter 18.63, Seotion 18.63.030 of the
Anaheim ~Gunicipal Code be, and the same is hereby amended with
Subsection 2 to read as follows:
"SECTION 18.63.030 ZONES PERMITTED
I "(2)Katella Avenue, between the oer.ter line of a flood
_ control channel commonly lrnown as the "Anaheim-Barber `
City Flood Control Channel" and tt~e oenter line of the
Santa Ana River."

The City Clerk shall ~ertify to the passage of this
Ordinance and shall cause the same tc be printed onoe within
fiftAen (15) days after its adoption, in the Anaheim &ulletin,
