A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
THAT PETITION FOR VARIANCE N0. 2213 gE DENIED
WHEREAS, the Clty Plenning Commission of the Clty of Aneheim dId receive a verified Petition for Variance from
HUMBLE OIL l~IdD REFIIJING COMPANY, % H. H. HANSEN, Box 1254, Urange, California 92668, Owner
of certain real property situated in the City of Anaheim, County of Orange, State of
California, described as that portion of the southeast quarter of the northeast quarter of
the southeast quarter of section 12, township 4 South, Range 10 West in the Rancho San Juan
Cajon de Santa Ana, as per map recorded in book 51 page 10 of (Niscellaneous Maps, in the
office of the county recorder of said county. Beginning at the center line ir,tersection of
Lincoln Avenue (formerly Anaheim-Olive Road) and Rio Vista Street as per map filed in
book 17 page 30 of Record of Surveys, in the orrice of said county recorder; thence along
the center line of said Lincoln Avenue northwesterly 195.00 feet; thence parallel with
said Rio Vista Street northerly 210.00 feet; thence parallel with said Lincoln Avenue
southeasterly 195.00 feet to said center line of Rio Vi.sta Street; thence southerly
210.00 feet to the point of beginning. EXCEPT the southwesterly 30.00 feet and the
easterly 30.00 feet thereof.

WHEREAS, the City F'lonning Commission did hold a public i~earing at the City Hall in the City of Aneheim on
November 16~ 1970, et 2:00 o'clock P.M., notice of seid public hearing heving been duly given as required by
; law end ln accocdence wIth the provisions of the Aaeheim Municipal Code, Chapter 18.68, to hear and consider evidence for
and ageinst said proposed verience end to investigete and meke findings end recommendetions in connection therewith;

~. That the petitioner propo=_es to relocate an existing free-standing sign, 40 feet
iri hFight, from its present location at the pump island to the southeast corner of the
property.
3. That grantir.g subjer.t petitior would be establishing an undesirable precedent in
which the remaining two service stations at this in±ersection would also request erection
of free-standing signs in er,cess to that permitted by the siyn ordinance.
4. That t.here are no exceptional or extraordinary circumstances or conditions a~plicable
to the property involved or to the intended use of the property that do not apply generally
to the property or class of use in the same vicinity and zone.
5. That the requested variance is not necessary for the preservation and enjoyment of a
substantial property right possessed by other p:operty in the same vicinity and zone, and
denied to the property in question.
6. That the requested variance will be materially detrimental to the public welfare or
injurous to the property or improvements in such vicinity and zone in which the property is
located.

Petition fot Varience on the besis of the eforementioned findings.
