PERMIT SERVICE, Post Office Box 364, La Puente, Californfa 91747, Agent of certain real prop~
erty situated in the City of Anaheim, County of Orange, State of California, as descrired in
Exhibit "A" attached hereto and referred to herein as though set forth in full; and
WHEREAS, the City Plnnning Commieaion did hold a public headng et the Cify Hell in the City of Anehelm on
August 21, 1972, et 2:00 o'clock P.M., notice of said public hearing having been duly given es required by
lew end in eccordence with the provisions of the An~heim hluniclpel Code, Chepter 18.6$, to hear and conaider evidence for
end egeinst seid proposed varience end to investiQate end make findings and recommendation~ in connection therewith;

WHEREAS, said Commission, efter due inapr,ction, inveatigetion, end study mede by itself end in ite behelf,
and eEter due conelderntion oE ell evldence and repods ofEerad at seid hearing, does find end determine the following
fects:
L. That the petitioner requests variances from.~the Anaheim Municipal Code
as follows: ,
a. SECTION 18.62.090(B-1) - Minimum distance between free-standing'
, signs. (300 f_et required; l0 feet
proposed)
b. SECTION 18.62.090(B-1) - Maximum number of free-standing siqns.
(4 signs proposed; 1 permitted)
c. SECTION 18.62.090(B-5) - Minimum distance to adjacent property line.
(44 feet reauired; 38 feet proposed)
d. SECTION 18.62.090(S-2) - Minimum si n height.
(8 feet requirecl; 6~i feet propose3)
2. That signing as proposed is far in excess of signing permitted within
the Sign Ordinance, and to grant subject petition would be establish-
ing an undesirable precedent wherein every other service staticn in
Anaheim could request similar sign~.ng.
3. That the Planning Commission earlier in 1972 had denied a aimilar
request with a finding that app~o~al would establlsh a precedent
for mass signing of other service stations throughout the city, and
no changes have occurred to warrant favorabla consideration of this
petition.

4. That the petitione~r is proposing to increase ~e number of signs on
these service station sites from four to eight times that permitted
by Code, thereby automatically granting the petitioner a privilege
not enjoyed by other commexcial and industrial developments through-
out th: city.
5. That there are no exceptional or extraordinary circumstances or
conditions applicable to the property involved or to the intended
use of the pro1~erty that do not apply generally to the property or
class of use in the same vicinity and zone.
6. That the requected variance is not necessary for the preservation
and enjoyment of a substantial property riyht possessed by other
property in the same ~~icinity and zone and denied~to the property
in question.
7. That the requested variance will be materially detrimental to the
public welPare or injurious to the property or improvements in such
vicinity and zone in which the property is located.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Annheim City Plenning Commission does hereby deny suoject
Petition for Varience on the besis of the eforementioned findinge.
