A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSIi~N OF THE CITY OF ANAHEiDi
RECOMMENDING TO THE REDEVELOPMENT t~GENCY OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
THE ESTABLISHI~SE~'T OF PROJECT BOUI~DARIES FOR PROJECT AREA "ALPHA"
WHER~AS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did, by Resolution No. 72R-230,
designate the entire City of Anaheim as a"survey area" for purposes of redevelopment; and
WHEREAS, Section 33322 of the tlealth an~ Safety Code of the State of California
provides that th~ next step in the redevelopment process is the selection of a project area
and formulation of a preliminary plan for its redevelopment by the Anaheim City Planning
Commission; and
WHEREAS, the Anaheim City Planning Commission and the Community Redevelopment
Commission are to cooperate in the designation of project areas and the formulation oE a
preliminary plan; and
1,~~IIEREAS, the Redevelopment Commission and the Planning Commission have met jointly
to consider project areas boundaries; and
WHEREAS, the Anaheim City Planning Commission upon having received data from the
Redevelopment Commission and after due i.nspection, investigation and study made by itself
and in its behalf, and after due consideration'does ~ind and determine ~he following facts:
1. That the project area should be large enough so as to provide sufficient
financia2 resources to a31ow redevelopment o£ the area.
2, That'~,~ignation of too small a project area could have undesirable detri-
mental effects upon that small area.
3. That designation of a large area will give the Community Redevelopment
Cocmr.is3ian, the Anaheim Planning Commission and the Redevelopment Agency
the maximur~ flexibility in formulating a radevelopment program.
4. Ttiat the area known as the Yorba Regional Shopping Center located at the
southwest corner of Imperiol Highway and Santa Ana Canyon Road should be
included in Proje~t Area Alpha.
NOW, THE~EFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Anaheim City Planning Commission does
hereby recommend to the City Council and the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Anaheim
that:
1. The boundaries of Project Area "Alpha" be as described on a map entitled
"Project Area Alpha" dated September 17. 1972, and shall further include
the area known as the Yorba Shopping Center located at the southwest corner
of Imperial Highway and Santa Ana Canyon Road, which is incorporated herein
by reference. ~
2, The Preliminary Plan for Project Area "Alpha" ettached hereto be adopted.
