A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM FINDING THAT TEIE
SANTA ANA RIVER BICYCLE TRAIL WOULD
HAVE NO ENVIRONMENT.AL II~II.'ACT AND
WOULD BG IN CONFORMANCE WITH
THE AAOPTED GENERAL PLAN
WHEREAS, the Orange County Board of Supervisors,by Resolution No. 72-599, dated
May 30, 1972, concerning the Santa Ana River Bicycle Trail, has applied for federal
grant assistance, certifying the availability of $137,000, and appointing the Orange
County Flood Control District as agent; and
WHEREAS, the Government Code of the State of California, Section 65402, provides:
in part that a local ag~ncy such as the Orange County Flood Control District shall not
construct public works in any city until the location, purpose and extent o£ such works
have been submitted to and reported upon by the planning agency having jurisdiction as
to conformity with said city's adopted general plan; and
WHEREAS, Section 21151 of the California Public Resources Code provides in part
that a local agency such as the Orange County Flood Control District shall make an
environmental impact statement for any project which may have a significanC effect upon
the environment and shall submit it r.o the planning agency Cogether with the report re-
quired by Se6tion 65402 of the Government Code; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Anaheim has reviewed the Santa ~.
Ana River Bicycle trail, finds and determines that the proposed bicycle trail would '~
have no environnental impact and would be in conformance with the Anaheim General Plan.
NUW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Anaheim Planning Co~iesion does
hereby find that the aforementioned project is in conformance with the City of Anaheim
General Plan, and does hereby recommend approval of the Santa Ana Bicycle Trail project
htithin the boundaries of the City of Anaheim.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be forwsrded t•o the Anaheim
City Council for its information.
