A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY YLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF 9NAHEIM FINDING
THAT THE PROPOSED ACQUISITION BY THE ORANGE COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL
DISTRICT OF THE DEERFIELD CHANNEL IS IN CONFORMANCE
WITH THE ANAHEIM GENERAL PLAN AND WOULD
HAVE NO SIGNIFICANT EFFECT ON
THE ENVIRONMENT
WHEREAS, The Deerfield Channel, a flood control channel constructed by the developera
of Tract Nos, :826 and 5827, located between the Riverside Freeway and the Santa Ana River
west of Deerfield Street, is presently owned by the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, since the channel is a major facility, it should be owned and maintained by
the Orange County Flood Control Diatrict•; and
WHEREAS, the channel was constructed in two separate incrementa, therefcre, the
Orange County rlood Control Diatrict would not accept said channel until it was completed and
in a condition acceptable to them; and
WHEREAS, the Deerfield Channel £s now completed, and the City is in receipt of a
letter from the Orange County Flood Control District agreeing to the acceptance of the channel;
and
W1iEREAS, the Anaheim City Planning Commiesion finds and determinea:
a. That the Orange County Flood Control District's acquiaition of the City
of Anaheiin's riglits'in the chennel is in conformance with the City's
adopted General Plan; dnd
b. That the acquisition of the channel will have no aignificunt adverae
effect on the environment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED.that the Anaheim City Planning Commisaion does hereby
find and determine that the proposed acquisition by the Orange County Flood Control District
is in conformance with the Anah~~m General Plan, and that it will have no significant effect
on the environment.
