A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM RATIFYING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT
APPLICATION AND THE ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT ON
BEHALF OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM FOR THE FISCAL
YEAR 2021 COPS OFFICE HIRING PROGRAM GRANT, AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND POLICE CHIEF
OR THEIR RESPECTIVE DESIGNEES TO EXECUTE ALL
REQUIRED GRANT DOCUMENTS
WHEREAS, the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (the "Grantor")
has heretofore invited public agencies, including the City of Anaheim, to submit applications for
the FY 2021 COPS Office Hiring Program Grant (the "Grant"); and
WHEREAS, on July 7, 2021 the Anaheim Chief of Police, by and through his
designee, submitted an application on behalf of the City of Anaheim to the Grantor for said Grant;
and
WHEREAS, in response to that Grant application, the City of Anaheim was
awarded Two Million Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($2,500,000) in Grant funds by the Grantor;
and
WHEREAS, the City is familiar with the terms, conditions and limitations of the
Grant; and
WHEREAS, the City is willing and able to conform to each of the terms, conditions
and limitations imposed upon the City of Anaheim pursuant to the Grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Anaheim as follows:
1. The submission of the application for the Grant by the Chief of Police on
behalf of the City of Anaheim, a public entity established under the laws of the State of California,
to the Grantor is hereby ratified and approved.
2. The City Council of the City of Anaheim hereby agrees to, and by this
Resolution, does accept the Two Million Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($2,500,000) in Grant
fiends awarded to the City without further action of the City Council being required therefore.
3. The City of Anaheim hereby agrees to comply with each and all of the
terms, conditions and limitations imposed by the Grantor upon said Grant, and the Anaheim City
Manager and/or Police Chief, or their respective designees, are hereby authorized and directed to
execute any agreements, assurances, or other documents that are required or necessary in
connection with the acceptance or implementation of the Grant.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim this 2_ day of Dece ibLex , 2021, by the following roll
call vote:
AYES: Mayor Pro Tem Faessel and Council Members Diaz,
Ma'ae, Valencia and O'Neil
NOES: None
ABSENT: Mayor Sidhu and Council Member Moreno
ABSTAIN: None
