PC7~-106 A RESOLUTIOV QF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM RECOMMFNDING THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF TH[ CITY QF ANAHEIM ADOPT A RC.SOLUTION AFFIRMING THE CITY'S APPEAL OF SPECIAL FLOOD HAZARD BOUNDARY MAPS PURSUANT TO THE NATIONAL FLOOD INSURANCE PROGRAM. WNEREAS, official notice of Anaheim's fiood prone status and hazard boundary maps became effective July 26, 1974 and, u~der provisions of +.he National Flood i~surance Program, the City has until July 1, 1975, or one year from publication date of flood hazard boundary maps, to voluntarily participate in the program, or within six months appeal the initial findings of the Federal Insurance Administration; and WHEREAS, in view of evident discrepancies between the Federal hazard boundary maps and local Corps of Engineers flo~d hazard data, the City of Anaheim appealed said Federal maps; and WHEREAS, notice has been received that a re-study of Anaheim's flood hazard boundaries has been initiated and, although said re-study and revised maps were t.o be provided by February, 1975, and then by March, 1975, said revised maps 5ave not ;~et been received. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Anaheim City Planniny Commission does hereby recommend that the City Council of the City of Anaheim adopt a resolution, as set forth in "Exhibit A" attached hereto, said resolution affirming the City's appeal of special fload hazard boundary maps pursuant to the National Flood Insurance Program. PC7S-106 - r ~ ~ "EXHIBIT A" RESOLUTION N0. 75R- A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AFFIRMING THE CITY'S APPEAL OF SPECIAI. FLQOD HAZARD BOUNDARY MAPS PURSUANT TO THE NATIONAL FLOOD INSURANCE PROGRAM, WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim has received special Flood Hazard Boundary Maps pursuant to the National Flood Insurance Program; and WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim has challenged the official findings c~~itained in the aforesaid maps on the basis of technical discrepa~ncies with local flood hazard information; and WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim has received acknowledgment of such discrepancies from the Federal Insurance Administration and has been notified that a re-study of Anaheim~s flood hazard boundaries shall be undert~ken. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that it is i~tended that the aforesaid re-study be completed and that revised special Flood Hazard Boundary Maps be issued to the City of Anaheim pursuant to participation in the National Flood Insurance Program, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Counci? of the City of Anaheim that application for parttcipation in the National Flood Insurance Program shall not be construed to negate the City of Anaheim's intent to receive revised special Flood Hazard Boundary Maps pursuant to the aforesaid program.
