PC78-161 A RE50LUTION OF TkE ANAHEIM CITY PLANMItlG COHMISSION, ADOPTING AND ADOPTIONDOFGANAHEIM GEIERALUPLAN AMENDMENTTNO.F~4~AHEIM WHEREAS, the City Councli of the Ci[y of Anaheim did adopt the Anaheim General Plan by Resolution No. 69R-644, showing the general descriptlon and extent of posslble~futurehdevelopmenttandaslte~redevelopmentPofgtandbwithin thehCity~,nand as to WHEREAS~ pursuant to request from the property or+~ers and the Planning CormnisslonandirectedC~City'staff toepreparePaaGeneralYPlanhAmendment far'areas,i~,nli9 I11, IV; and WHEREAS, the study arcas for consideration in the General Plan Amendment are described as follows: AREA I A RECTANGULARLY-SHAPED PARCEL OF LAND CONSISTING OF APPROXIMATELY 3.2 ACRES AT THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF KATELLA AVENUE AND NIMTH STREET. AREA II AN IRREGULARLY-SHAPED PARCEI OF LAND CONSISTING OF APPROXIHATELY 13.4 AGRES LOCATEO SOUTH OF MIRAIOMA WAY 9E7WEEN THE RIVERSIOE AND ORANGE FREEWAYS. AREA III A RECTANGULARLY-SHAPED PARCEL OF LAND CONSISTI~IG OF APPROXtPtATELY 47.7 ACftES flF LRND LOCATED SOU7H OF THE RIVERSIDE fREEWAY AND NORTH OF TIiE SANTA A~IA RIVER BET4lEEN GLASSELL STREET AND TUSTIN AVENUE. AREA IV A REC7ANGULARLY-SNAPED PARCEL OF LAND CONSISTING OF APPROXIMATELY 5.8 ACRES OF LAND LOCATED AT THE NORTHNEST CORNER OF ORANGETHORPE AVENUE AND IMPERIAL HIGHWAY. WHEREAS~ the Planning Department deemed tt approprlate, pursuant to the pravTsions of the Californla Environmental Quali[y Act, after reviewtng the proJect areas as well as the Initlal Studies and found no significa~ovedVfor~meach, proJect and, therefore, recammended that Negative Declaratlons be app area; and WHEREAS, The Anahelm Ctty Planntng Canmisslan did hold a public hearirg at the Anaheim City Ha11n tice~of saTdbeub11c4hearingthavingAbeen dulyagiven as requfred 1978, at 1:30 p.m., P ay law and ln accordance with the provtsio~s of the Anahelm Muntclpal Code, to hear PC78-t6t ` 1 and conslder evidence for and against said Amendment to the Anahelm General Plan and to lnvestlgate and make findings and recommendatlons tn connection therewtth; and WHEREAS, said Commission, after due inspection~ invcstigation and study made by ttsalf and In its behaif and after due consideratlon of all evidence and reports offered at sald pubilc hearing, DOES HEREBY FIND: 1, That evidence was presented whtch substantiates the need for an amendment to Lhe Anahelm General Plan~ and it is deemed approprTate that "Exhibit A" be adopted for Areas I and II. 2. That the Planning Com~isston deemed it approprTate to recommend that consideration of Area III be wtthdrawn at this time due to pending zoning actions• 3. That the Planning Camiission deaned it appropriate to recommend that conslderation of Area IV bc Withdrawn at this cime at the request of the property owner, NOW~ THEREFORE, BE (T RESOLVED that the Anaheim Ctty Planning Commisston has revlewed the subject proposal for a generai plan amendment on a rec[angulorly-shaped parcel of land consistir.g of approximatety 3.2 acres at the southwest corner of Katella Avenue and Ninth Street; and also an trregularly~shaped parcel of land consisting of approximately 13,4 acres located south of Miraloma Nay between the Rfverside and Orange Freexays; and docs hcreby recomend to thc City Lounctl that Negative Declarations from the requiremen[ to prepare environmental impact reports be approved on the basts that there woutd be no significant irtdivldual or cumulatTve adverse envlronmental impacts due [o the approval of these Negative Declarations; that no sensitive environmental impacts are involved in the proposal; that the Initial Studies submitted by the pettttoners and staff indlcates no significant (ndividual or cumulative adverse environmental Impacts; and that the Negative Declarations substantiating the foregoing findings are on file in the City of AnaheTm Planntng Department. That "Exhibit A" (General Industrial) be adopted for Area 11 - approxtmately 13.4 acres located south of Hiraloma Way between the Riverstde and Orange Freeways; and 3, That no change be adopted for Area I11 - approxTmately 47.7 acres located south of the Rlverside Freeway and north of the Santa Ana River between Glassell Street and Tusttn Avenue~ slnce the Planning Commission has recommended that subJect area be wtihdrawn fran consideration; and 4. That no change be adopted for Area IV - approxtmately 5.8 acres located at the northwest corner of Orangethorpe Avenue and ImperTal Hlghway -2- PC78-t6i since the property owner rcquested that constderatlon be withdrawn for this area. 1378.
