uHEREAS, the City Planning Canmission dtd hold a public hearing at the City
Hall in the City ofi Anaheim on January b, 1g78, at 1:30 p,m., nottce af said publTc
hearing having been duly given as required by law artd in accordance wtth the
provisions of the Anaheim Municipal Code, Chapter 18.03. to hear and conslder

evidence for and against said proposed variance and to investigate and make findings
and recommendations in connection therewith; and
WHEREAS, said Commission, aftcr due Inspection, investigation and study made
bY itself and in its behalf, and after due consideration of all evidence and reports
offered at said hearing, does find and determtne the following facts:
~, That the petitioner proposes a walver of the following to permit
additional display area on an existing free-sCanding sign:

proposed.
Z, That the above-mentioned waiver ts hereby granted on the basis that [he
P~oposal is minimal ;less than Sg 9reater than permitted by the Zoning Code); that
subject property is lucated adjacent to the Sania Ana Freeway and the sign is visible
P~imarily from the freer~ay only; and that the proposal, whtch consists of
incorporatin9 a standard factory-manufac[ured identity sign into an extsting 3~3
square foot free-standing sign, is preferable to constructing a second and separate
free-standing stgn.

y, That the requested variance is necessary for the preservation and

vicinity and zone, and denied to the property in question.

public welfare or injurious to the property or improvements tn such vicinity and zone
in which the oroperty is located.
6, That no one indicated their presence a[ said public hearing in
oPpostcion; and that no correspondence was received In opposttion to the subject
petttion.
ENVIRONMENTAL iMPACT FI~IDING: The Dtrector of the Planning Department has
Aetermined that the proposed activity alls within the definition of Sectlon 3.01,
Ciass 11, of the City of Anaheim Guidelines to the Requtrements for an Environmental
~mPact Report and is, therefore, categorically exempt from the reGuirement [o file an
EIR,
NOw~ THEREFORE. BE IT RE50LVED that the Anahtlm City Planning Commisston
does hereby grant subject Petition for Varlance, upon the following condition which
is hereby found to be a necessary prerequistte to the proposed use of the subJect
property in order to preserve the safety and general welfare of the Cittzens of the
City of Anaheim:
