4JHEREAS, Che City Council oP the City of Flnaheim did adopt ~ha Anaheim General
Plan by Resolution No. 69R-64~i, showing the ~7cneral description and extent of possible
future development ~~~i thin the City; and
IdHEREAS, pursuant to a request from the property owner for a General Flan
Amendment stuGy, CiLy staff prepared a General Plan Ame~idment for an area consisting
oP approximately 5.8 g ross acres located on the norche,~sr corner oF La Palma Avenue
and Romneya Drive; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Department deemed it appropriate, pursuant to the
provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act, Chat after having revie~-~ed
the proposal and the Initial ~tudy and finding no signiFicant environmental impacts,
recomm~nds that a Pdegati~~. Declaration be approved; and
WHEREAS, the Anaheim City Planning Cominission did hold a public hearino at the
Anaheim Civic Center, Council Chamber, 200 Soutn Anaheim Boulevard, on December 14,
1g81, at 1:30 p.m., notice of saiu public he~ring having been duly given as required
by law and in accordance a~ith the provisions of ~he Anaheim tlunicipal Code, to hear
and consider evidence for and against said Amendment to the Anaheim General °lan
and to investigate and make findings and recommendati~ns in connection therea~ith; and
WHERcAS, said Commission, after oue consideratior~, inspection, investigation
and study made by itself, and after due consideration of al' evidence and reports
offered at said hearing, DOES HEREBY FIND:
l. That evidence ~•~as presented substantiatiny the need for an amendment
to the Anaheim General Plan, and it is de2med appropriate th~t "Fxhibit A" be
adopted, designating the entire study area for Lo~•r Medium Density Residential
land uses.
NOW, THEREF(~RE, BE IT RESOLVED that, the Anaheim City Planning C~mrnission has
r~viewed the proposai to change the current General Plan designation fron General
Commercial to Low-Medium Density Residential on an irregularly~-shaped parcel of
land having an area of approximately 5•8 aross acres located on the nurtheast corner
of La Palma Avenu~. and Romneya Drive; and does hereby approve the Negative De~:larati~n
froin the requirement to prepare an environmental impact report on the basis that
there ~•~o~~ld be no sigr.ificant individual or cumulative adverse environmental impact
due to che approval of this Negative Declaration since the ~";rahe~m Gereral Plan
designates the subject pro~erty for General Commercial land uses commensurate with
the proposal; th-:t no sensitive envirunmental impacts ~re involved in the proposal;
that the Initial Study submitted by the petiCioner indicates no significant individual
or cumulative adverse environmental impacts; and that the Ne9ative Declaration
substantiating Che (oregoinq fin~ings is on filo in the City of Anaheim Pianning
DeparCment.
BE IT FURTHER RESOIVED, that pursuant to the `oregoing findings, the Anaheim
City Planning Commission does hereby adopt and recommend to the City Council of
the City of Flnaheim adoption of General Plan Amendment Dlo. 171, Exhi:.it A.
