A RESOI,UTION OF TH~ ANAFIEIM CITY PLANNING COMMISSION
ADOPTING AND RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIiE CITY OF ANAFIEIM
ADOPTION OF GEN~RAL PLAN T~MENDMEN'f NO. li8 - LAND USE ELEMENT
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anai:cim did adopt the Anaheim
Genera.l Plan by Resolution No. fi9R-644, showing the yeneral description and extent
of land uses within the City and indicating the present belief of the Council as
to possible future development and redevelopment of the land within the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did adopt the Canyon
Area General Plan on Marctl 8, 1977 as .;fficial guide for development in the Canyon
Aree; and
WHEREAS, City staff prepared a General Plan Amendment for an area con-
sisting of approximately 50 acres, generally bounded on the north by the Atchison,
Topeka and Santa Fe Railway, on the west by Tract 9169 (a developed single-family
residential RS-5000(SC) zone subdivision) and on the south by the Santa Ana River;
and
WHF.REAS, the Planning Department s~aff deemed it appropriate, pursuant to
the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act, that subject property
is covered under Environmental Impact Report ho. 258, previously certified by the
City Council on December 14, 1982; and
WHEREAS, the Anaheim City Planning Commission did hold a public hearing
at the Anaheim Civic Center, Council Chamber, 200 South Anaheim Boulevard, on
February 23, 1983, at 1:30 p.m., notice of said public hearing having been duly
given as required by law and in acr_ordance with the provisions of the Anaheim
Municipal Code, to hear and consider evidence for and against said Amendment to the
Anaheim General Plan, Land Use Element, and to investigate and make findings and
recommendation in connection therewith; and
WHEREAS, said Commission, after due consideration, inspection, investi-
gation and study made by itselL-, and afL-er due consideratian of all evidence and
reports offered at said public hearinq, DOES HEREBY FIND:
1. That evidence was presented which substantiates the need for
an amendment to the Anaheim General Plan, and it is deemed
appropriate that "ExhiP ": A" be adopted, designating the
area for General Comme_cial and General Open Space.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that, pursuant to the foregoinq findings,
the Anaheim City Planning Commission does hereby adopt and recommend to the City
Council of the City of Anaheim adoption of General Plan Amendment No. 178 - Land
Use Element, Exhibit A.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approven by me this 23rd day of
February, 1983.
