WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did adopt the
Anaheim General Pl.an by Resr~lution No. 69R-644, showin5 the general
description and exten,L- of possible tuture development within the City; and
WHER~.~S, the Gez~eral Plan provides an offi.cial guide for future
develapment o~ the hill a:id canyon area and is intended to promote an
arrangement of land use, highways and ~ublic servzces which prc,vide sequenced
development and adequa~e provisions £or timed public improvements; anc3
pr~pose3 the general usage of land and specifies a range of development
intensity and den~ity; and the Land Use ElE;nent of the .Anaheim General Pl.an
recogniz~s a projectQd future need to provide a poYice substation in planning
Area B, the H'ill and Caiiyun Area of. the city; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to s Ylannzng Cnmmission initiated r~quest, at
the r.equesL oi ~he City Chiof af Pol.~ce, to consider and amendment to the Land
iJse F~emezzt of the General P1an, stafP prepared a Gen~ral PXan Amendment
pr~posing i:ha cles:ignation oi a police suk~station in ~he ~vicinity of 5~eir
Ganynn Road and. Monte Vista Road; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Aepartment deemed it appropr.iate, pursuant
to the provis9.ons of the Califarnia Cnvironmental Quality Act, that there are
no significant environmental 3.anpacts anrl rec~mmen3ed that a N~gative
Declaration be agproved; and

r.earin~ at the Anaheim C.ivic CenLer, Council Chamber, 20t7 Sout~Z Anahoim
Boulevard, on January 18, 1988, at 1:30 p.ni., notice ot said public hearing
haviiig been duly yiven as r.equired by ].aw and in ac:curciar,ce with the
provisions of the Anataeim Municipal CodF, to hear and con~ider evidence for an
ag~inst sai.d Amendment to the Anahe.im Municipal Code, to hear an.d consider
evidence for ancl against said Mienclment tu the Anaheim Gener~l. Plan, and to
investigate and make findings an~ recommendations .in c~nnection therewith; and
