A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM DESIGNATING (I) NINTH STREET
BETWEEN CEA~RITOS AVENUE AND CALLE DE LAS
ESTRELLAS AND (II) THE SOUTH SIDE OF CERRITOS
AVENUE BETV~EEN NINTH STREET AND WALNUT, AS
~~PERMIT PARKING ONLY" STREETS (PERMIT
PARKING AREA N0.16)
WHEREAS, Section 14.32.450 of Chapter 14.32 of Title 14 of the Anaheim
Municipal Code authorizes the City Council to, by resolution, designate any streets, or portions
_, thereof, as "Permit Parking Only" streets; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department has determined that it is feasible to enforce a
"Permit Parking Only" restriction in the area hereinafter described; and
WHEREAS, a shortage of reasonably available and convenient residentially-
relatedparking spaces exists in the area; and
WHEREAS, no unreasonable displacement of commuter vehicles into
surrounding residential areas will result if this restriction is imposed; and
WHEREAS, no alternative solution to the parking problems in this area is
feasible or practical; and
WHEREAS, due to parking congestion on those streets hereinafter set forth, the
City Council hereby finds and determines that parking on those streets should be limited to
persons possessing permits; and
WHEREAS, the establishment of a "Permit Parking Only"
area on the streets hereinafter set forth is necessary to enhance the public health, safety and
welfare of the residents of the area, the users of the public streets and the public at large.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Anaheim, that parking on the following City sheets shall be limited to those persons possessing a
properly displayed permit to park:
Permit Parking Area No. l6
The following streets are hereby designated as Permit Parking Area No.16for which a
properly displayed valid parking permit shall be required to park:
The east and west sides of Ninth Street from Cerritos Avenue to Calle de las
Estrellas; and
the south side of Cerritos Avenue from Ninth Street to Walnut Avenue.
Nothing contained in this resolution shall be construed to authorize parking or stopping
where such parking or stopping is otherwise prohibited.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION IS PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM THIS SEVENTH {7TH) DAY OF JUNE,
2005, BY THE FOLLOWING ROLL CALL VOTE:
