A RESOLUTION OF THE ANAtiEIM CIN PI~INNING COMMISSION
AMENDING RESOLUTION NOS. PC94-82 AND PC95-40
ADOPTED IN CONNECTION WITH VARiANCE N0. 4251
TO APPROVE WAIVER OF ADDITIONAL SIGNAGE
WHEREAS, on J~~ne 27,1994, the Anaheim Ciry Planning Commission adopied Resolutfon No.
PC94-82 to approve Variance fVo. 4251, in part, and allow waivers of permitted type and size of shopping
center identffication signs, permitted wall signs and permitted freestanding directional signage to construct
rivo monument signs and three wall signs on prope .ry located at the southwest comer of Qld C:anal Road
and Pullman Street and further described as 1095 Pullman Street (Super K PAart Center); and
WHEREAS, on April 3, 1995, the Planning Commission adopted Resolution No. PC95-40 to
amend P,esolut(on No. PC94-84 and permit addfttonal signage; and that the conditions of approval included
the foilowing:
"1. That subJect property shall be developed substantiaily in accordance wfth p!ans and
specifications submitted to the City of Anahelm by the petitioner and which plans are on file
with the Planning Department marked Revlsion No. 1 to Exhibit Nos. 1 ihrough 3.'
WHER~AS, the petitioner has subm(tted revised plans, labeled Revision No. 2 of Exhibit Nqs.
1 and 2, that modif~r the 2xisting east elevation signage to aliow one set of 24" non-illuminated letters
(reading "Penske") (nstalled above the exlsting 33" letters (raading "Auto Service").
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission did hold a public h+aring at the Givic Center in
the City of Anahoim on March 31, 1997, at 1:30 p.m., not(ce of said public h:~~~g havfng been duly given
as required by law and in accordance with the provisions of the Anaheim h:::~~icipal Code, Chapter 18.03,
to hear and consider evidence for and against said proposed amendment and to investigate and make
findings and recommendations in connection therewith; and
WHEREAS, said Commissfon, after due inspection, investigation and study made by itself
and in its behalf, and after due cons(deration of all evidence and reports offered at said hearing, does find
and determfne the foliowing facts:
1. That tha addition of the word "Penske" to the east wall elevatfon is consistent with the s(gnage
previously reviewed and approved by the Planning Comm(ssion; and
2. That no one indicated th2ir presence at sakl public hearing in opposftfon; and that no
correspondence was received in opposition to the subject petition.
CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT FINDING: The Pianning Director or his
authorized representative has determined that the proposed project falls within the definftion of Categorical
Exempiions, Ciass 11, as defined in the State EnviroRmental Impact F~.purt (EIR) Guidelir,es and is,
therefore, categorically exempt from the requfrement to prepare an EIR.

tJOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Anahe(m City Planning Commission does
hereby amend Condition No. 1 of Resolution No. PC94-82, as amended by Resolution No. PC95-40 arxl
adopted in connectton wfth Variance No. 4251, to read:
'1. That subject property shall be developed substantially in acc~rdance wfth p!ans and
specffications submitted to the Ciry of Anahe(m by the petitioner and which plans are on flle
with the Planning Department marked Revislon No. 1 of Exhibft Nos. 1 through 3 and
Revision No. 2 of Exhlb!t Nos. 1 and 2; and that the Revision No. 2 plans pertain
specifically to an approx(mately thirty three (33) square foot wall sign on the east elevation.'
THAT THE FOREGOING RESOLUTlON was adopted at the Planning Commission meeting
of March 31, 1997.
