A RESOLUTION OF THE ANAHEIM CITY PLANNINCs COMMISSION
ADOPTIPIG AND RECOMMENDING TO THE Clllf COUNCIL ADOPTION OF
GENERAL PIAN AMENDMENT NO. 346 PERTAINIhG TO THE IAND USE ELEMENT
WHEREAS, the City Ccuncil of the Ciry of Anahefm did adopt the Anahefm General Plan by
Resdution No. 69R-844, showing the general description and extent of possible future development with(n the City;
and
WHEREAS, Plann(ng Commission directed staff to inftiate an amendment to the Land Use Element
of the General Plan to redesfgnate subject property ftom a Ciry-initiated amendment to the Land Use Element ut
the General Plan to redesignate a poRion of this properry ftom the existirsg General Commercial tand use
designatlon to the Medlum Density ResfdeMial land use destgnation on a rectangularly-shaped 3.82-acre property
has a frontage of 274 feet on the north ~ide of La Pelma Avenue and is located 740 feet east of the cerrteriine of
State College 8oulevard (2131-2211 East La Palma Avenue);
WHEREAS, on Febn~ary 7, 1997, the Planning Commfssfon initiated this general plan amendment
as a Community Planning Program actfon item for the East Anaheim Planning Area; and that the City Council
subsequendy auproved said Actfon Plan on February 25, 1997.
WHEREAS, subject praperty is cunenUy developed whh a 92-unft apartment cornplex in the RM-
1200 (Residential, Multip~e-Fam(ly) Zone; and
WHEREAS, the current General Plan designates the property for two different land uses: Medium
Densiry Residential far the rear portion and General Cortimercial for the front port(on; and that this general plan
amenciment places the entire property fn the Medium Density Residential land use designation consistent wfth the
underlying use and zoning.
WHEREAS, the Anahe(m Ciry Planning Commfssion did hc~d a pubiic hearing at the Anaheim Civfc
Center, Council Chamber, 200 South Anaheim Bouievard, an June 23, 1997, at t:30 p.m., notice of said public
hea~(ng having been duly given as required by law and in accordance with the provisions of the Anaheim Mun(cipal
Code, to hear and conskler evidence for and against said Generai Plan Amendment and to (nvestigate and make
findings and recommendations in connection therewfth; and
WHEREAS, said Commission, after due cons~ieratlon. inspection, irnestigation and study made
by ftself, and after due consideratfon of ali evidence and reports offered at said hearing, DOES HEREBY FIND:
1. That the evidence presented substartia:es the need for an amendment to the Anahetm General
Plan and that, therefore, Exhibit A should be adopted redesignciing subJect area for land uses.

CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENTAL nt~AIJTY ACT FINOING: That the Anaheim City Planning
Commission has reviewed the proposal to amend the land Use Element of the Generai P:an to change the
curcent land use desfgnatlons from a City-inftiated amendment to the Land Use Element of the General Plan

comments ~ecefved that there is no evidence that the project will have a significant effect on the
ernironment.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Anaheim City Planning Commiss(on oes
hereby recommend that the City Council adopt General Plan Amendment No. 346, Exhibit A, to redesignate
the front portion of this property from the existin9 General Commercia~ land use designation to the Medium
Densiry Residentiat land use designation.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION was adopted at the Planning Commisslon meeting of June
