A RF_SOLUTION OF THE ANAHEIM CITY F'fANNING COMMISSION
AMENDING CERTAIN CONDITIONS OF APPROVAL OF
RESOLUTION N0. G8R-562 ADOPTED IN CONNECTION WITH
CONDITIONAL USE iQ42
WHEREAS, on September 17, 1368, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 68R-562 to
approve Conditional Use Permit No. 1042 and permit a 155-unit, 3-story ~,^.otel at 2630 West Lincoln
Avenue with waiver• of maximum building height; and
WHEREAS, this property is deveioped with a 155-unit, 3-story motel (Valencia lnn) in the
CL (Commercial, Limited) zone; that the Anaheim General Plan designates the property for l~7edium
Density Residential land uses; thal the property is located within the boundaries of the West Ariaheim
Commercial Corridor Redevelopment Area; and that the property is located in Community Planning Area
No.3; and
WHEREAS, the petitioner has proposed amending the condilions of approval of Resolution
No. 68R-562 by the addition of certain conditions pertaining to motel operations in order to clarify room
rental procedures and to irnqrrn~e motel operations; and
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission did hold a public hearing at the Civic Center in
the City of Anaheim on August 3, 1998, at 1:30 p.m., notice of said public hearing tiaving been duly given
as required by law and in accordance with the provisions of the Anaheim Municipal Code, Chapter 18.03,
to hear and consider evidence for and against said proposed ariendment and to investigate and make
findings and recommendations in connection therewith; and that said public hearing was continued from
the June 22 and July 6, 1998, Planning Commission meetings; and
WHEREAS, said Commission, afler due inspection, investigaiion and study made by itself
and in its benalf, and after due consideration of all evidence and reports offered at said hearing, does find
and determine the following facts:
1. That the petitioner withdrew the proposal to add certain new conditions of motel operations.
2. 1'hat modification, consisting of the imposition of an additional condition, is reasonably
necessary to protect the public peace, health, safety and general welfare, and necessary to permit
reasonable operation under the conditional use permit as originally granted.
3. That no one indicated their presence at the public hearinc~ in opposition; and that no
correspondence was received in opposition to the subject petition.
CALIFORNIA ENVI.~20NMENTAL QUALITY ACT FINDING: That the proposed project falls
within the definition of Categoric~l Exemptions, Class 1, as defined in the State Environmental Impact
Report (EIR) Guidelines and is, therefore, categorically exempt from the requfrements to prepare an EIR.
NOW, THEF2EFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that tfie Anaheim City Planning Commission dces
hereby amend Resolution No. 68R-562, adopted in connection with Conditional use Permit No. 1042, by
adding the following new conditfon:
8. That the oK•ner/manager shall maintain a complete guest registry or guest card system
which shall (nclude the full name, address, date of birth, and verified drivers license or legal
Identification for each guest. Vehicle registration numbers, date of registration, length of
stay and room rates for all registered guests shall be made available upon demand by any
police o~cer, code enforcement o~cer or license inspector of the City of Anaheim.
