PC98-161 A RESOLUTION OF THE ANAHEIM CITY PLANNING COMUIISSION AQOPTING AND RECOMAIENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL ADOPTION OF GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT NO. 356 PERTAINlNG TO THE LAND USE ELEMEtJT WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did adopt the Anaheim General Plan by Resoiution No. 69R-644, showing the general description and extent of possible future development within the City; and WHEREAS, petitioner requests approval of an amendment to the Land Use Elemenk of the General Plan to redesignate subJect property from the General Commercial land use designation to the Hiliside Medium Density Residential land use designation; and that the property consists of an irregulariy-shaped, 4.8-acre parcel located at the northwest comer of Oak Canyon Road and Weir Canyon Road, having frontages of 625 feet on the north side of Oak Canyon Road and 401 feet on the west side of Weir Canyon Road (Development Area 208 of The Summit of Anaheim Hills Specific Plan No. 88-2); WHEREAS, the Anaheim City Planning Commission did hold a public hearing at the Anaheim Civic Center, Council Chamber, 200 South Anaheim Boulevard, on September 28, 1998, at 1:30 p.m., notice of said public hearing having been duly given as required by law and in accordance with the provisions of the Anaheim Municipal Code, to hear and consider evidence for and against said General Pian Amendment and to investigate and make findings and recommendations in connection therewith; and that said public hearing was continued to the October 12, 1998 Planning Commission meeting; and WHEREAS, said Commission, after due consideration, inspection, investigation and study made by itself, and after due consideration of all evidence and reports offered at said hearing, DOES HEREBY FIND: 1. That the evidence presented substantiates the need for an amendment to the Anaheim Generai Plan and that, therefore, Exhibit A should be adopted redesignating subject area for Hillside Medium Density Residential land uses. CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT FINDING: That the Anaheim City Planning Commission has reviewed the proposal to amend the Land Use Element of the General Plan to change the current land use designation from the General Commercial land use designation to the Hillside Medium Density Residential land use designation on an irregularly-shaped, 4.8-acre parcel located at the northwest corner of Oak Canyon Road and Weir Canyon Road, having frontages of 625 feet on the north side of Oak Canyon Road and 401 feet on the west side of We~r Canyon Road (Development Area 208 of The Summit of Anaheim Hills Specific Plan No. 88-2); and does hereby approve the Negative Declaration upon finding that it has considered the Negative Declaration together with any comments received cJuring the public review process and further finding on the basis of the fnitial study and any comments received that there is no evidence that the project will have a significant effect on the environment. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that pursuant to the above findings, the Anaheim City Planning Commission does hereby adopt and recommend to the City Council of the City of Anaheim adoption of General Plan Amendment No. 358, Exhibit A, pertaining to the Land Use Element, to redesignate the study area from the General Commercial land use designation to the Hillside Medium Density Residential land use designation.
