Resolution-PC 98-40RESOLUTION NO. ~C98-40 A RESOLUTIG`N OF TI1E ANAHEIM CITY PLANNING COMMISSION ADOPTING AND RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL ADOPTION OF GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT NO. 353 PERTAINING TO THE LAND USE ELEMENT WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did adopt the Csaheim General Plan by Resolution No. 69R-644, showing the general description and extent of possibie future development within the City; and WHEREAS, Planning Commission directed staff to initiate an amendment to the Land Use Element of the General Plan to redesignate the southeasterly approximately 20.6 acres of this property from the'Hillside Low-Medium Density Residential' land use designation to the'Generai Commercial' land use designation; and WHEREAS, the Anaheim City Planning Commission did hold a pubiic hearing at the Anaheim Civic Center, Council Chamber, 200 South Anah~im Boulev2rd, on March 30, 1998, at 1:30 p.m., notice oF said public hearing having been duly given as required by law and in accordance with the provisions of the Anaheim Municipal Code, to hear and consider evidence f~r and against said General Plan Amendmenl and Co investigate and make findings and recommendations in connection therewith; and WHERERS, said Commission, after due consideration, inspection, investigation and study made by itself, and after due consideration of all evidence and reports offered at said hearing, DO~S HEREBY FIND: 1. That th~ evidence presented substantiates the need for an amendment to the Anaheim General Plan and that, therefore, Exhibit A should be adopted redesignating subject area for General Commerciai la~d uses. CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMFNTAL QUALITY ACT FINDING: That the Anaheim City Planning Commission has reviewed the proposal to amend the Land Use Element of the Generai Plan to change the current land use designation of the soutneasterly 20.6 acres of a 24.5-acre parcei located at the northeast corner of Via Cortez and Santa Ana Canyon Road, having overall frontages of 964 feet on the east side of Via Cortez, 815 feet on ihe north side of Santa Ana Canyon Road, 950 feet on the west side of Solomon Drive and 1,500 feet on the south side of the Riverside Freeway; and does hereby approve the Negative Declaration upon finding that it has considered the Negat(ve Declaration together wilh any comments received during the public review process and further finding on the basis of the initial study and any comments received that there is no evidence that the project will have a slgnificant effect on the environment. NOW, 7HEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that pursuant to the above findings, the Anaheim Cily Planning Commission does hereby adopt and recommend to the City Council of the City of Anaheim adoption of General Plan Amendment IVo. 353 pe~taining to the Land Use Element, Exhibit A, to redesignate the study area from the Hillsida Low-Medium Density Residential land use designation to the General Commercial land use designation.
