A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM ADOPTING A LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING
BETWEEN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AND THE ANAHEIM
POLICE ASSOCIATION.
WHEREAS, on December 16, 1980, the City Council approved Resolution
No. 80R-555 adopting a Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Anaheim
and the Anaheim Police Association; and
WHEREAS, the City Management Representative and the Anaheim Police
Association have met and conferred and agreed to amend the Memorandum of
Understanding to establish specific language to clarify the physical condition
of officers requesting appointment to Master Police Officer or Sergeant Post-
Advanced; and
WHEREAS, a Letter of Understanding dated August 12, 1982 between the
parties has been prepared and signed; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find that adoption
of said Letter of Understanding is in the best interest of the City of Anaheim.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim
that the Letter of Understanding dated August 12, 1982 between the City of Anaheim
and the Anaheim Police Association is hereby approved and adopted.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim this 24th day of August , 1982.

LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING
BETWEEN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
AND
ANAHEIM POLICE ASSOCIATION
ANAHEIM and the ANAHEIM POLICE ASSOCIATION agree that police officers
and police sergeants shall not be appointed to any type of Master
Police Officer or Sergeant Post-Advanced while on light duty or indus-
trial accident leave.
Light duty or industrial accident leave shall not be cause for removal
from such appointed status.
