RESOLUTION NO. 82R-453
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM AMENDING RESOLUTION 78R-49l
CONCERNING RECORDING OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF
CLOSED S.ESSIONS OF THE CITY COUNCIL.
WHEREAS, Resolution 78R-49l authorized and directed
the City Clerk to attend each closed session of the City
Council to keep a minute book and make a recording of said
closed sessions pursuant to Government Code Section 54957.2;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is in the
best interest of the City of Anaheim to discontinue the practice
of tape recording the proceedings of closed sessions of the
City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that Resolution 78R-491 adopted on the
first day of August, 1978 be, and the same is hereby amended
to read as follows, to wit:
"WHEREAS, Section 54957.2 of the Government
Code of the State of California authorizes the City
Council to designate a clerk or other officer or
employee of the City to attend each closed session of
the City Council and keep and enter in a minute book
a record of topics discussed and decisions made at
the meeting; and
"WHEREAS, the City Council desires to designate
the City Clerk to attend all sessions of the City Council,
and to keep a minute book of such proceedings.
"NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City
Council of the City of Anaheim that the City Clerk, or
a designated representative be, and the same is hereby
authorized and directed to attend all closed sessions of
the City Council and keep and enter in a minute book a
record of topics discussed and decisions made at the meet-
ing in accordance with the confidentiality and restrictions
specified in Section 54957.2 of the Government Code of
the State of California. Said minute book records shall
be retained by the City Clerk until such time as the
destruction or erasure is authorized by the City Council.
The City Clerk shall not be required to make a written
transcription of any such minute book records, or any
portion thereof, except upon the affirmative vote of a
majority of the total membership of the City Council."

THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by
the City Council of the City of Anaheim this 7th day of
September, 1982.
