RESOLUTION NO. 82R-465
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT CERTAIN
WORK IS OF URGENT NECESSITY AND AUTHORIZING THE
CITY ENGINEER TO RECEIVE INFORMAL BIDS FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF THE LAKEVIEW-.LA PALMA STORM DRAIN
OUTLET STRUCTURE.
WHEREAS, Anaheim City Charter Section 1211 provides that
contracts on public works may be let without advertising for bids
if such work shall be deemed by the City Council to be of urgent
necessity for the preservation of life, health or property; and
WHEREAS, the original plans for construction of the
Lakeview-La Palma Storm Drain included provisions for an Outlet
Structure into the Orange County Water Districts Huckleberry Pond;
and
WHEREAS, the construction of the outlet structure was
precluded by the high water level in Huckleberry Pond and this water
level is now being lowered by the Orange County Water District
until approximately November 15, 1982; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds and determines that
construction of the Outlet Structure is of urgent necessity for
the preservation of health and property; and
WHEREAS, there exists insufficient time to construct
the outlet structure prior to November 15, 1982 under normal
bidding procedures.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that:
1. Immediate construction of a permanent outlet structure
for the Lak~view~La Palma Storm Drain is of urgent
necessity for the preservation of health ~nd property; and
2. The City Engineer is authorized to receive informal bids
for the construction of the outlet structure.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by
the City Council of the City of Anaheim this 21st day of September,
1982.
