RESOLUTION NO. 82R-520
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING THE COM-
MENCEMENT OF PROCEEDINGS FOR THE ANNEXATION
OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED
AS CERRITOS-FREEWAY ANNEXATION.
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim desires to annex into its
boundaries certain unincorporated and uninhabited territory as
hereinafter described; and
WHEREAS, said City desires to extend the full range of
municipal services to said territory in order to better serve the
needs of said property, its owners and inhabitants; and
WHEREAS, said City desires this resolution to be deemed
a resolution of application proposing a change of organization
pursuant to Sections 35140 and 35110 of the Government Code of the
State of California.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim as follows:
1. That the within proposal is made pursuant to the
Municipal Organization Act of 1977 as set forth in Title 4,
Division 2, Part 2 of the Government Code of the State of
California.
2. That the nature of the proposed change of organization
is for the annexation of the hereinafter described 47.46 acres of
unincorporated and uninhabited territory to the City of Anaheim.
3. That said unincorporated and uninhabited territory be,
and the same is hereby, designated as .Cerritos-Freeway Annexation
to the City of Anaheim,. and the boundaries of said affected
territory are legally described as follows:
PARCEL 1:
That certain parcel of land lying within the unin-
corporated territory of the County of Orange, state
of California, being a portion of the East one-half
of Section 24, Township 4 South, Range 10 West,
S.B.B. & M., described as follows:
Beginning at the Northeast corner of the Ball-
Sunkist No. 5 Annexation to the City of Anaheim;
thence Easterly along the Southerly annexation
lines of the Ball-Sunkist annexation to the City of
Anaheim and of the Wagner-Sunkist annexation to the
City of Anaheim, and of the Wagner-Rio Vista annex-
ation to the City of Anaheim, the fallowing courses

That certain parcel of land lying within the unin-
corporated territory of the County of Orange, state
of California, being a portion of the Northwest
quarter of Section 24, Township 4 South, Range 10
West, S.B.B. & M., described as follows:
Beginning at the Northwest corner of the Winston
Road No. 1 Annexation to the City of Anaheim;
thence South 00 14' 24" West, along the Westerly
annexation line of said Winston Road No. 1
Annexation, 1,244.00 feet to a point on the North-
erly right of way line of the Southern Pacific
Railroad; thence South 760 19' 048 West along said
right of way line, 310.00 feet to the Southeast
corner of the Southeast annexation to the City of
Anaheim; thence North 000 21' 57" East, along the
Easterly annexation line of said Southeast annexa-
tion, 1,317.72 feet: thence South 890 55' 36ft East,
298.00 feet to the point of beginning.
A map showing the aforesaid boundaries and designated .Cerritos-
Freeway Annexation to the City of Anaheim," is submitted concur-
rently with and accompanies this Resolution

4. That the reasons for the proposed change of organization
are as follows:
a. To incorporate a county island into the City of
Anaheim in accordance with the City's established sphere of influ--
ence; and
b. To provide full municipal services to an unincor-
porated area with greater efficiency.
5. That the City of Anaheim is hereby designated as the
chief petitioner with regard to this application and the mailing
address of said petitioner is as follows:

6. That the City of Anaheim does hereby request that annexa-
tion proceedings be taken and commenced for a change of organiza-
tion in connection with the hereinabove described unincorporated
territory pursuant to the provisions of said Municipal Organization
Act of 1977.
7. That, pursuant to the provisions of Paragraph 6(a)(2) of
that certain ~1aster Property Tax Transfer Agreement between the
County of Orange and the City of Anaheim dated October 28, 1980
(-AgreementW), the County Administrative Office and the City
Manager, or their designees, have heretofore agreed in writing that
said territory to be annexed to the City of Anaheim shall be deemed
and treated as "developed/substantially developed. property for
purposes of said Agreement.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 26th day of October, 1982.
