2005-167RESOLUTION N0.2005- lb1 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM FOR PAYING AND REPORTING THE VALUE OF EMPLOYER PAID MEMBER CONTRIBUTIONS UNDER THE PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM FOR FULL-TIME MISCELLANEOUS EMPLOYEES WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim has the authority to implement Government Code Section 20636 (C) (4} pursuant to Section 20691; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim has a written policy which specifically provides for the normal member contributions to be paid by the employer, and reported as additional compensation; and WHEREAS, one of the steps in the procedures to implement Section 20691 is the adoption by the City Council of the City of Anaheim of a Resolution to commence paying and reporting the value of said Employer Paid Member Contribution (EPMC); and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim has identified the following conditions for the purpose of its election to pay EPMC: 1. This benefit shall apply to all full-time Miscellaneous PERS employees. 2. Effective dates vary by Unit of Representation as follows: Non-Represented Management Units (Executive, Administrative, Middle Management, Professional and Suaervisory): a. Effective the beginning of the pay period following City Council adoption of this Resolution, this benefit shall consist of paying 3.5% of the normal contributions as EPMC, and reporting the same percent (value) of compensation earnable as additional compensation. b. Effective December 30, 2005, this benefit shad consist of paying 7% of the normal contributions as EPMC, and reporting the same percent (value) of compensation earnable as additional compensation. AMEA General and Clerical Units and Non-Represented Confidential Unit: a. Effective the beginning of the pay period following City Council adoption of this Resolution, this benefit shall consist of paying 3.5% of the normal contributions as EPMC, and reporting the same percent (value) of compensation earnable as additional compensation. Effective June 30, 2006, this benefit shall consist of paying 7% of the normal contributions as EPMC, and reporting the same percent (value) of compensation eamable as additional compensation. International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers fI.B.E.W.) Local 47: a. Effective January 13, 2006, this benefit shall consist of paying 3.5% of the normal contributions as EPMC, and reporting the same percent (value) of compensation eamable as additional compensation. b. Effective January 12, 2007, this benefit shall consist of paying 7% of the normal contributions as EPMC, and reporting the same percent (value) of compensation eamable as additional compensation. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Anaheim elects to pay and report the value of EPMC, as set forth above.
