RESOLUTION NO. 86R-202
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM SUPPORTING PROPOSITION 43 WHICH
PLACES BEFORE THE VOTERS OF CALIFORNIA JUNE 3,
1986, A MEASURE TO PROVIDE FUNDING FOR PARKS
AND RECREATIONAL LAND ACQUISITION,
RESTORATION, DEVELOPMENT AND OTHER RELATED
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, parks and recreation programs vastly enhance our
environment and our lives; and
WHEREAS, leisure facilities and open spaces in both urban
and rural areas are a necessity to life, since they have a
substantial effect on mental and physical health, economic
productivity and social problems; and
WHEREAS, Proposition 43 would place before the voters of
California a measure to provide financing of a program of
acquiring, developing, or restoring real property for state and
local park and recreational purposes; and
WHEREAS, the proposed program will make available
additional, or augment existing, recreation areas and add or
improve facilities in and near population centers; and
WHEREAS, enhancement of parks, conservation of natural
resources and historic preservation projects have a direct
economic benefit to our community and the state as a whole; and,
moreover, will benefit the health and well-being of Californians.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Anaheim endorses Proposition 43, which would provide
local government funding for parks and recreational land
acquisition, restoration, development and other related purposes.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 20th day of Ma , 1986.
