RESOLUTION NO. 86R-244
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROVING AND ADOPTING
THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE LIBRARY BOARD
OF THE ANAHEIM PUBLIC LIBRARY TO INCREASE
CERTAIN FINES AND FEES.

WHEREAS, the Library Board of the Public Library, by
letter dated May 21, 1986 has recommended to the City Council the
increase in certain fines and fees formerly established in
Resolution No. 66R-286; and;
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that certain of said
fines and fees should be increased at this time in the manner
hereinafter specified.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim:
1. That fines for overdue material be increased
from $.05 to $.10 per day per item, with a
maximum fine per item to be set at the cost
of the material or $5.00, whichever is less;
2. That a non-refundable processing fee of $2.00
be charged on all lost or damaged cataloged
materials in addition to the cost of the
material; and
3. That a fine-free time be granted to library
patrons from June 21 - June 30 to allow the
return of overdue materials without penalty
prior to the inauguration of the new fine
schedule.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the new schedule for the
fines and fees set forth above takes effect on July 1, 1986.
Except as expressly amended herein, Resolution No.
66R-286 remains in full force and effect.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted and
