A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPROVING THE CONTINUITY OF
OPERATIONS PLAN FOR THE CITY OF ANAHEIM.
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim (also referred to herein as "City ") assembled an
interdepartmental task force to develop a Continuity of Operations Plan (also referred to herein as
"Plan ") to ensure the continuity of government and performance of essential functions during and
after an emergency, disaster or other disruption to normal City of Anaheim business operations; and
WHEREAS, the interdepartmental task force has prepared a Continuity of Operations
Plan that sets forth policies and procedures to be followed in the event of an emergency to ensure the
continuity of government and performance of essential functions in the event of an emergency; and
WHEREAS, the Continuity of Operations Plan identifies critical business practices
and operations which may be affected by a disastrous or hazardous event and identifies critical
personnel to carry out essential government functions and to facilitate the timely and orderly
recovery from emergencies and the resumption of day -to -day operations and services; and
WHEREAS, the Continuity of Operations Plan contains required information and
guidance to sustain essential services and minimize the potential impact during and following an
emergency; and
WHEREAS, a copy of the Plan is on file in the City of Anaheim, Fire Department,
Office of Disaster Preparedness; and
WHEREAS, the Anaheim Disaster Council has reviewed and approved the Continuity
of Operations Plan and recommends that the Plan be adopted by the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to adopt the Continuity of Operations to make
certain that the capability exists to continue essential government functions in the event of an
emergency.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as follows:
1. The Anaheim Continuity of Operations Plan is hereby adopted as an official plan of
the City of Anaheim.
2. The respective city officials with responsibilities identified in the Plan are hereby
directed to implement the recommended actions should activation of the Continuity of Operations
Plan be necessary.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim this 2ot-1h day of J , 2010, by the following roll call vote:
