2005-223RESOLUTION N0.2005 - 22~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROVING A LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE ANAHEIM MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION, GENERAL UNIT, AND THE CITY OF ANAHEIM WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim and the Anaheim Municipal Employees Association, General Unit, have met and conferred and reached an understanding to ~- amend Article 40 (Vacations of the Memorandum of Understanding and; WHEREAS, the Anaheim Municipal Employees Association, General Unit is in agreement with the recommendation contained in said Letter of Understanding; and WHEREAS, as a result thereof, the Letter of Understanding dated November 29, 2005, between the parties has been prepared and signed; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find that it is in the best interest of the City of Anaheim to approve said Letter of Understanding. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the Letter of Understanding dated November 29, 2005, between the Anaheim Municipal Employees Association, General Unit and the City of Anaheim, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference herein, is hereby approved, F:IOT3616CS.DOC THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council of the Gity of Anaheim this ~t~ day of December 2005. ' ..___.. ;~~ t r r~~ ., ., By' ~. . ~.._ ~~ F:~OT3616CS.DOC LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING between the ANAHEIM MUNICPAL EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION, General Unit and the CITY OF ANAHEIM The Anaheim Municipal Employees Association, General Unit {AMEA), and the City of Anaheim {ANAHEIM) have met and conferred and have reached an agreement to amend Article 40 of the Memorandum of Understanding between the parties dated July 1, 2005 through January 8, 2009. Article 40, Section 40.8 is amended to read: 40.8 An employee steal! have the ability to be compensated for accrued vacation in either two separate increments of up to ib~{4A} si 60 hours each or one increment of up to eig-kfy {89} one hundred twenty (12Q) hours, subject to the following provisions: 40.8.1 A minimum of forty (40) hours of vacation must have been used during the previous twelve monfhs. 40.8.2 An employee's recluuest for the annual vacation payoff is subject to the approval of the employee's depa-tment head 40.8.3 The employee's balance cannot drop below forty (40) hours as a result of the request.
