A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEI~.t DECLARING THE NECESSITY PURSUANT
TO GOVE~~MENT CODE SECTION 39576.5 TO CONTRACT
FOR THE CUTTING Al'lD REMOVAL OF ALL RANK GROWTH
AND WEEDS, AND REr~OVAL OF RUBBISH, REFUSE AND
DIRT UPON ANY PARCEL OR PARCELS OF REAL PROPERTY
OR ANY PUBLIC STREETS tfITHIN THE CITY OF ANAHEI~-!,
CALLING FOR BIDS THEREON, AND AUTHORIZING PUBLI-
CATIO~T OF NOTICE TJIEREFOR, ACCOUNT NO. 322-297.
~mEREAS, pursuant to Title 6, Chapter 6.16 of the
Anaheim Municipal Code re~ulations have been established for the
abatement of rank growth, weeds, rubbish, refuse and dirt u~on
any parcel or parcels of real property or any public streets
within the City of AnaheiM; and
WHEREAS, Government Code Section 39576.5 authorizes the
City Council to abate such nuisance by awarding a contract on the
basis of competitive bids for the cutting and removal of such
rank growth and weeds and removal of rubbish, refuse and dirt~
and
t~EREAS, the City Council finds that public convenience
and necessity require that such rank growth, weeds, rubbish,
refuse and dirt be cut and removed as quickly as possible because
of the noxious nature thereof, and further finds the foreqoinq
can best be accomplished by awarding a contract therefor as
aforesaid.
NOt'l.. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of AnaheiM that all rank growth, weeds, rubbish, refuse
and dirt upon any parcel or parcels of real property or public
streets within the City of Anaheim be cut and removed therefroM
by contract on the basis of competitive bids, and that said bids
shall include the furnishinq of all labor and equipment to cut
and reMove all rank gro~~h, weeds, rubbish, refuse and dirt
upon all lots, parcels and areas within the City of Anaheim as
directed by the Chief of the Fire Department.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that tile City Clerk of the City
of Anaheirn be~ and she is hereby authorized and directed to pub-
lish a notice according to lawr inviting sealed proposals for
the furnishing of all labor and equipment to cut and remove" rank
growth, weeds, rubbish, refuse and dirt upon all lots, parcels
and areas within the City of Anaheim as directed by the Chief of
the Fire Department in accordance with specifications on file in
the Fire Department and the City Clerkls Office, and fixing the
6th day of April, 1972i at the hour of 2:00 P.M. "as the date and
hour for the openin9 of said bids at the City Council Chamber in
the City Hall of tIle Ci'cy of Anaheim, and that said notice shall
be published twice, the first of which publications shall be at
least ten (10) days prior to the date fixed for the opening of
bids; and that said ~lblication shall be at least five (5) days
anart.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the successful bidder or
bidders shall be required to en.ter into a contract with t.l1e City
of Anaheilil in. the manner and form approved by the City Attorney
of the City of Anaheim for the furnishing of the labor and equip-
ment and the performance of the work contemolated in said bid
in accordance-with the notice inviting sealed proposals, this
resolved: and all applicable City ordinances or ~ode sections,
and the laws of the State of California, and shall be required
to pos.t bonds and insurance in the amounts and wi thin the tir1e
required by law as specified in the notice inviting sealed pro-
posals/ and in a form approved by the City Attorney.
THE FOP~GOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 14th day of March, 1972.
